September 30

A few of my neighbors had a baby shower for Elliott last night. It was really sweet. Clay had Bible Study, so Mamaw came over and played with the girls while Elliott and I visited with neighbors.

Nonna and Poppa bought us a webcam so they can see the kids more frequently... this was our first attempt the other night. Now Kat thinks all she has to do is stand in front of our computer whenever she wants to talk to Nonna!

September 29

Yesterday morning I had to get out all of the girls long sleeve pants and shirts so they could play outside. The weather turned to Fall quickly!

Julia's Pre-School teacher sends homework home each week. This week's homework was to practice her cutting skills (the paper had dotted lines she had to cut).

It's been awhile since I have posted pictures off of Julia's camera, so here are some pictures she has taken over the past couple of months:

Today I am dropping the girls off at school, heading to Cafe Mom at church, and then running a few errands. Tonight my neighbors are having a baby shower for Elliott, so that should be fun!

September 27

This morning we went to church and then out for lunch. All 3 rugrats are taking a nap right now and Clay is finishing his drywall project. The girls have choir at church tonight and I think I am going to use that time to walk the track at church... found one way to sneak in some exercise (28 pounds to go!)

September 26

This morning was supposed to be Julia's first soccer game, but it was cancelled due to the rain. It has rained every day for the past week. Over it! So we had a lazy morning just hanging out at home. However, the rain has stopped, so I plan to get the kids outside to play tonight. I think we could all use some fresh air!

Bapaw came over a couple of times this week to help Clay frame a wall in the unfinished part of our basement. Clay says this is practice for when he rebuilds our deck. I think this is because he is planning to start breeding snakes in that room... he's being sneaky!

September 25

Elliott is 4 weeks old already! The time goes by too fast, maybe even faster than with the girls since it's non-stop busy with the three kiddos. Here are some pictures I took of the rugrats yesterday...

Elliott got to meet Aunt Susie

Kat got to have a milkshake after school because she didn't cry during recreation. She didn't play either, but at least it's a step in the right direction! As you can see from her face, she enjoyed it. Food as a bribe works for her - something we have in common! Thanks for checking on her at school Peggy!

Elliott and his big sisters

Not a good one of the girls, but I love this picture of Elliott

Kat had her 3 year well-child check-up with the Pediatrician yesterday. She is above average (around 60th %) in height and weight. She got one shot and didn't even cry!

Next week Elliott has his 1 month check-up and the following week I have my 6 week postpartum check-up. At some point we won't be going to the doctor constantly, right?

September 24

Is it just me or is the month of September going by really fast!?! This morning Elliott and I dropped the girls off at school and then went to the grocery store. I tried to buy a couple of weeks worth so I won't have to go as often. We'll see how long all the food lasts.

I need some advice. Kat is struggling with recreation time at school - go figure! Her teacher said that as soon as they start heading towards the gym for recreation, Kat goes into a panic and cries the entire time. She clings to her teacher and won't go play, which is totally unlike her. She's not usually scared of loud noises (loves fireworks) but I wonder if that's what is bothering her. Should I just let her ride this out and hope it goes away? Go to gym time and play with her and get her having fun in there? What to do, what to do...

Mega grocery run - I ended up having to have 2 carts!

Elliott and I are getting ready to head to Mamaw and Papaw G's house to visit with Aunt Susie. Then we're picking the girls up from school and taking Kat to the Pediatrician for her 3 year-old check-up. I feel like I need to start paying rent at doctor's offices, we've been going so much lately!

Speaking of doctors, Kat's 6 month follow-up with her ear doctor went good yesterday. She still has tubes in her ears. He said he'd leave them in there for up to 3 years if they don't cause any problems. We go back in 6 months again to see if they've fallen out yet.

Happy 3rd Birthday Kat!

We went to Chuck-E-Cheese last night for dinner to celebrate Kat's birthday since we have church tonight.

Mmmm... cotton candy

Julia's wild skee ball skills...

Funny Julia Story: I wondered how long it would be before the girls started feeding their baby dolls the same way I nurse Elliott. Well, last night Julia sat beside me on the couch and nursed Fancy Nancy while I nursed Elliott. She was so proud of herself, it was pretty cute.

This morning Julia and I exercised to a workout video... she's definitely in better shape than I am. Then we went to the library for story time with some of our friends. This afternoon Kat has a 6 month follow-up appointment with the ENT to see how the tubes in her ears are doing.

September 22

Have you had one of those days when things are hectic and you can't seem to get them to slow down? Today is one of those days, and not much has really happened... it just seems like there's alot to do and not enough time. It started when Elliott spit up all over himself and me as we were heading out the door to take the girls to school...

Last night Bapaw came over for dinner and played with the girls for awhile.

September 21

Elliott decided to be awake from 12:20am until about 2:30am this morning. So today I have been working on keeping him awake for awhile after he eats so that hopefully he will be awake more during the day and sleep at night! We got a care package in the mail from Nonna after lunch...

Nonna, the girls are watching Scooby Doo and eating pumpkin muffins as I am posting this.

Oh, and they also enjoyed the bubble wrap!

September 20

Elliott decided that it would be fun to be awake from 2:20-4am. Grrr! After that, I couldn't quite get myself out of bed this morning to get to church, so we had a lazy Sunday morning. The rain outside made it that much cozier to be in the house in our pajamas! Clay cooked a big breakfast this morning, so I woke up to the smell of bacon- yum! After breakfast we watched a movie and then we all went to the Reptile Show... yep, a room full of snakes, lizards, turtles, etc. The girls loved it. They kept asking to hold every snake they could. I touched an Iguana - that's about as adventurous as I get! We went out for lunch after that.

The girls love to make crafts

Julia (aka Pigpen) got absolutely filthy at Ethan's birthday party yesterday... and she loved it! I had to give her a pre-rinse in the shower and then wash her hair twice. For some reason, she dumped a bunch of dirt on her own head!

WARNING: the following picture is totally tacky (but hilarious) and might offend you. I am not referring to the confederate flag in the picture... look lower. Clay pointed these out to me on our drive yesterday.

Bumper Nuts!

September 19

Last night was Kat's 3rd birthday party. She had a great time. She was very excited and jumping and bouncing all over the place.

She liked her "Scooby Dooby Doo" cake

Elliott got to meet his Great Aunts Dale and Janet

Yep, he's Snuggable

The past 3 nights Elliott's been waking up around 1:30 and 4:30 in the morning. I think babies usually hit a growth spurt around 3 weeks, so he seems to be following that by waking up for an extra feeding. A growing boy's gotta eat - but man is it making Mama tired! Even so, it's hard to not enjoy the time with him.

Go Big Blue!

September 18

Last night Julia and I went for a bike ride through our neighborhood. My legs were sore this morning - talk about out of shape!!! I cleaned the house last night and got everything ready for Kat's party. Today we went to the zoo so the kids wouldn't mess up the house before the party tonight.

Fancy Nancy came along to the zoo too

Kat was not too crazy about this peacock scavenging near her for food

Isn't this guy cute?
