Happy Halloween!

Ghost pancakes

Last night Mamaw and Papaw G came over for dinner and to watch the kids carve the pumpkin (really, Papaw just wanted to inspect the deck).

Yesterday was Julia's Fall party at school. Since I am one of her class Mom's, I helped plan it. We did several crafts and had cookies. It was alot of fun. Then I stayed for Julia's PE class and for a school assembly. It was a fun day, but tiring!

October 29

Clay got home yesterday after 2 days of being in North Carolina.

Yesterday was Kat's Fall Festival at school. Elliott and I helped out (as much as you can help with an energetic 1 year-old). Kat's teacher told me that Kat is "Precious and always well-behaved." A little surprising (she is our strong-willed little pistol), but good to hear. It was fun seeing her in her school environment.

I made Jello Worms for Julia's Fall Party today. They turned out awesome! I can't wait to see the kids' faces when I put these on their plates!

October 28

Yesterday morning after dropping the girls off at school, Elliott and I were on our way to the grocery store when I got an impulse to go see the Extreme Home Makeover home.

There's a gym, huge garage, 4,000+ square foot house, plus a huge tree house in the back. We saw Ty briefly as he was walking toward the house, he waved at the spectators. The episode should air in January or February.

Mamaw and Bapaw joined us for a fun evening at the Fall Festival at church.

Today is Kat's Fall Festival at preschool. I am helping run a booth. This will be our third and final one this week. Next year we may have to pick one to attend. I am all Fall festivaled out!

Julia's Kindergarten Picture

Clay flew to North Carolina first thing yesterday morning and it's a good thing he left when he did. At 11am we were put under a tornado warning. This Mama didn't enjoy having my two girls off across town at school during the severe weather. I wanted them at home safe with me. *sigh*

Julia's teacher e-mailed me some pictures of her from school. They studied worms recently for Science class. Alot of the kids wouldn't even touch the worms. But not my Julia (see second photo).

That's my girl!

October 26

Yesterday morning Nonna took Julia out for breakfast, then to school, then she headed back home. Kat, Elliott, and I had a lazy pajama day and it was great!

Kat had fun with Bendaroos

We made this project over the weekend. It was pretty messy and I did most of the work. It turned out neat, but we probably won't try this one again until the kids are older. Mamaw Pat, would you like this one for your house?

Clay is flying to North Carolin this morning for work. I imagine he will enjoy the fresh air. It wreaks of smoke here.

October 25

Yesterday after church we went to visit family and went to an orchard. The weather was nice, although it was a little odd being at a pumpkin patch in shorts/shortsleeves. It was so dry that when the wind blew, dirt was flying everywhere. By the end of the day, the kids looked like they'd been rolling around in a pigpen.

This is my favorite picture from the day
