 Lucy finally has enough hair for a faux hawk!

Julia added a swing and swimming pool to her rock pet's house. The pool is on top (she even made a ladder). She spent hours on this yesterday afternoon.

August 29

We had a fun day celebrating Elliott's 3rd birthday yesterday. We went to the zoo during the day, and then when Clay got home from work went to McDonald's and bowling. We must have worn everyone out because all the kids slept until 8am today!

 

 

 I found some "Seek and Find" educational printouts on the zoo's website for the girls 

 Elliott had alot of fun bowling. He did it all by himself! He cheered for everybody and gave everyone high-5s.

 We came home for cake and Elliott's gift. 

 I found a website that showed me how to make a marble design inside the cake. It turned out really cool! Can't wait to experiment with that on future cakes.

Who gives a 3 year-old a skateboard!?! We do. He. Loved. It. I bought him some knee and elbow pads today! :P

August 28

Happy 3rd Birthday Elliott!

I can't believe my little dude is 3! I wish time would slow down a little. Elliott is full of energy and talks non-stop, is unbelievably sweet, super-coordinated, ornery, and So. Much. Fun. He's all boy!

This is one of my favorite pictures taken right after Elliott was born. Clay was in shock that we had a boy! I think he was prepared for another girl.

I am 3! Maybe now he will stop telling people he is 6 years old!

August 27

Today was one heck of a busy day! Elliott spent the night with Mamaw Pat last night, so we were able to get school/errands run a little faster.

August 26

Happy Birthday to me! We all stayed home from church because Lucy threw up a few times on yesterday. She was fine all day today (I think the probiotics I gave her upset her tummy). The girls were sooo excited for my birthday - it was really sweet.

The girls and Clay decorated the family room with green balloons and streamers (my favorite color)

Then they made me a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, and biscuits

Gus wished me a Happy Birthday too

We went downtown to watch the Ironman winner cross the finish line.

Clay cooked me this yummy ribeye for dinner and got potato salad from Mark's Feed Store

August 25

We went to the fair again yesterday, this time with Peggy. We had a fun day, but it was hot outside, so we mostly stayed in the air conditioning. Thankfully, our fair has alot of stuff to do inside!

 Elliott got to help a farmer show his sheep to the judges! He started following the sheep into the judging area, so the farmer grabbed his hand and let Elliott come in and help him!

 My kids can eat a funnel cake in under 2 minutes- Poof!

 Elliott put his clothes on again yesterday. Apparently I need to explain to him that the tags go on your rear-end.

We went over to Mamaw and Bapaw's last night to celebrate Bob's birthday. 

These two are going to be so much fun to watch grow up together! Lucy looks bigger in this picture! She's got Abbie beat on girth!

August 24

Happy Birthday Bob!

 

 Yesterday I laid Elliott's clothes on the floor, told him to put on his underwear, and then I left the room to do something. Me? Sidetracked? What?!? When I came back to help him, he had put his shorts and shirt on all by himself (I didn't know he could do that)!

 Apparently reading is bad for your hair - if you are Julia, anyways.

Julia made a rock pet (a kitty) and a home for it.
