After church, we dropped Kat off at work (Julia was already at work) and headed to the zoo.

July 30
We met Lulu and Terah today to bring Maddy back home with us. She will be spending the week with us. We had about 30 minutes to kill when we got back to town and before we had to pick Kat up from work. So we took Maddy on a quick tour of a giant baseball bat, followed by a giant gold naked David. By the time we got to the mural and Churchill Downs, Elliott was no longer a happy participant.

They had an impromptu talent show at church camp. Apparently Lucy decided to demonstrate that she can touch her head with her feet.
Archery tag. I have decided that I want to go to camp. I wish they had an adults-only week!
Elliott enjoyed the fact that the guys outnumbered the girls yesterday.
We celebrated Raymond’s 17th birthday.
Poor Anthony. He hasn’t learned to tell Kat no yet. Ha!

All the girls at camp line up to get their hair braided by Meghan.
Our children’s director texted me last night to let me know that Lucy has some dance moves. She had a blast at their glow-dance party.
I finished the white trim last night and got Lucy’s room put back together. I went to bed whooped!

My Physical Therapist picked up the 2022 KY football poster at Kroger for Elliott to add to his wall. How awesome is she!?!
I had organized a middle and high school co-op swim party for this afternoon. The rain messed up our plans. Instead, we played board games and snacked all afternoon at our house.

Lucy left for a few days of church camp. Ava’s church is at the same camp! Our children’s director is posting pictures on Facebook.
While Lucy is at camp, we are painting her bedroom. She chose the same beige color the rest of the house is painted. There were quite a few holes to spackle! I was able to get all the first coat done myself. My knee was tired, but it held up fine going up and down the ladder. Clay decided the room needed a second coat when he got home from work and, thankfully, he did it! Now I need to paint the white trim… but not today!

Happy Birthday Bapaw!!!
Clay, Elliott, and Bapaw started the day fishing.
He is a determined little booger!
We celebrated Bapaw’s birthday before heading home.
In addition to laundry, groceries, and making sure Lucy is packed for camp, Julia decided to put her job skills to use and clip Gus’s nails. As you can see, it was a team effort. It went much faster, although Gus is still not a fan.
