June 30

My cousin Lindsey gave the kids haircuts
We went to a park to play for a little while, but it got so darn hot out that even the kids were ready to leave. So we went to a really cool sporting good's store that had an aquarium, ferris wheel, and tons more!

The we met up with Terah, Jordan, and Maddie for lunch.

Lulu getting love from the 2 year-olds

After naps, we went to a parade. It was crazy hot by the time the parade started, but it was still fun. And I am pretty sure the kids are stocked up on candy until Halloween!

June 29

We made good time on our drive to visit the Grandparents today. The kids were all great travelers!

When we arrived at Grandpa and Lulu's house, the kids needed to burn off some energy, but it was way too hot outside (100 degrees)!

June 27

The library had a West African dance class today. Kat was the only one in our family to participate. Elliott lost interest quickly and Julia didn't want anyone watching her dance, so she took all the pictures and videos. I started out doing it, but it was hard to dance and hold Lucy at the same time. Kat did a great job and had a lot of fun. I highly recommend this program if it comes to your library!

June 26

This is how Elliott came out of the bathroom this morning... and yes, those are his underpants on his head!

Elliott figured out how to ride his big boy bike without any help! It took him awhile to figure out how to pedal forward. He kept pushing backwards on the pedal, which is the brake. Now we just need to work on him paying attention to where he is going...

 Jonathan and Julia are buddies

 My little bookworm

It is supposed to get really hot (triple digits) by the end of the week, so we spent alot of time outside this morning enjoying the cooler weather.

Lucy has entered the phase where she is begging for our food. She has eaten graham crackers, watermelon, green beans, sweet potatoes, applesauce, and bread. She doesn't have any teeth yet, but she is gumming her food without any trouble.

We got the Slip N Slide out yesterday afternoon. I am pretty sure that my biggest kid (Clay) had the most fun.

June 24

Julia had her last softball game yesterday. She had a couple of solid hits. I overheard her coach tell someone that she has the best swing on the team, he just keeps waiting for her to get better contact with the ball.

We went to a swimming birthday party yesterday afternoon for a sweet little friend from church.

Julia's gymnastics outfit arrived for Layla (her reward for not sucking her thumb anymore). She was busy for a long time playing with her doll. So proud of her for giving that bad habit up - and on her own!

June 23

We had an outdoor movie at church last night. The kids mostly ran around and played with their friends. Fun was had by all.

Funny Elliott Story: I was standing in the back of the crowd talking to a friend and keeping an eye on all my kids running around and playing. When all of a sudden I heard several people giggling and pointing. I turned just in time to see Elliott, with his pants pulled down slightly, and a puddle on the sidewalk in front of him. He had just peed in the potty 10 minutes before that - Doh! Is this a male thing (marking their territory)?

Lucy is now grabbing things... including Peggy's snow cone!

I took the kids to the zoo last night. It's been so hot out lately the the only way to be comfortable outside is in the water. We mostly played at the splash park, but we also took advantage of a free carousel ride.

June 21

Lucy had her 6 month checkup today. She is 26 inches long (50th%) and weighs 16 pounds, 15 oz (75th%). She's built like me - short for her weight! :P
This is what happens when I sit on the floor. Every time. He looks pitiful.
 This kid cracks me up!

June 20

Clay is working crazy hours this week- 5:30pm until 4am. He was home with us most of yesterday. Unfortunately it was a day of getting things taken care of: van oil change, A/C repair, mowing the yard, and to top it off, as we were leaving for the library, there was a buzzing sound coming from the circuit breaker, so Clay had to run to Lowe's and fix that too. We've had one of those weeks when everything seems to be falling apart (dryer, A/C, weed eater, circuit switches)!

We went to the "Junk Genius Robot Challenge" library program yesterday. The kids each got a chance to battle other robots - even Elliott.

Ms Peggy met us for dinner. Mark's Feed Store has a promo on Tuesday nights for free kids meals. I bought dinner for me and the three kids for under $10. That is cheaper than McD's! I love me a bargain!

June 19

We went to a program at the library called "Writing Fun!". Kat wrote a book that was pretty cute, Julia made signs, and Elliott played with letter blocks.

My new washer and dryer!!! I hate doing laundry, but these make it soooo much nicer! Clay researched and shopped for these last week while I was doing VBS. My only request was for it to hold a ton of clothes in one load. He got one of the largest washers and dryers they make! I did 5 days worth of laundry (including towels) yesterday and it only took me 3 loads. In my old machine it would have been at least 6 loads! Now... if only I could buy some sort of machine to fold the clothes too. :P
