Julia and Kat had My Life on Saturday. These are pictures I found on Facebook. After picking them up, Clay told me that they had fun and smelled terrible!

September 29

We met Nonna and Grandpa Carroll for breakfast at Charlie Parkers. I ordered Elliott one giant pancake. It was larger than I expected. It was served on a pizza pan. He put a small (very small) dent in it. I think all five of us could have eaten it and not finished it!

We visited the Abe Lincoln Presidential Museum for a couple of hours. It is a beautiful museum. Elliott has been learning about the Civil War for the last month, so the timing was just right. He didn't love the museum... but he did learn.

We met Uncle Stump for lunch on our drive home. He taught Elliott the art of posing for a picture. Nice. We also ate at a local custard place. I am pretty sure Elliott and Lucy are going to want to eat there every time we stop to visit Stump.

September 28

We spent the morning visiting with family. The kids had fun reconnecting with Parker and Remi.

These two are the silliest of playmates.

Elliott was oh so thrilled to go to the wedding. Can't you tell?

Elysa was a beautiful bride. She'll forever be my bratty little cousin though...

Aunt Dale and I both had dresses AND makeup on! That NEVER happens!

This was the first time in 12 years (since Grandma's funeral) that all 8 siblings were together. Love them!!! I think Aunt Dale must be shrinking already.

September 27

After dropping Julia off at the bus stop this morning, Elliott, Lucy, and I headed on to IL.

We ate lunch at the Cozy Dog with Grandpa Tim, Aunt Janet, and Andy

Janet and Grandpa Tim's calves... they are hereditary (in case you were wondering where my large calves come from). Elliott has the boy version.

We rode in Lulu's hippy van in the Route 66 parade. The kids had fun throwing out candy.

September 25

After dropping Kat off at class, Elliott, Lucy, and I ate lunch with Old Mamaw.

They got done with their schoolwork, so we headed to a park to enjoy the cooler (finally) weather.

13 year-olds are fun. That is all I am going to say. Prayers appreciated.

Happy Birthday, Abbie!

Kat had a fun 13th birthday. She was sung to at co-op yesterday. Last night we took her to dinner at Red Lobster because she wanted to eat the Endless Shrimp special.

My anatomy class has been learning the skeletal system. They labeled their bodies with the different bones and then we played Skeletal Simon Says. I have never heard so much belly-aching. I told them that they're really going to love when we act out the digestive system! Ha!

They also had to make joints out of clay and present them to the class.

Happy 13th Birthday, Kat!

13 years ago, at 8:22am, my doctor told me to push. I pushed once and Kat was born at 8:23am. She's been headstrong ever since! I can't believe she's already 13. She's been practicing for the teen years since she turned 1.

She wanted to celebrate her birthday with a boy-girl party at our house. She said it was "really, really fun!".

 Photobomb

 They played several games.

Kat got alot of candy - her friends know that sweets are the way to her heart.
