While Lucy was at CrossFit, Elliott and I got gas and a snack at Sam’s Club.

Then we got a geocache. It was a really windy afternoon.

February 27

Someone was too excited about her Easter dress to wait another month to wear it to church. Thank you Mamaw and Bapaw!

We decided to take the kids to DC for Spring Break this year. We have spent WAY too much time this weekend researching what to do, etc. True to his nature, Clay came up with an Excel spreadsheet that lists what days certain places are open or has tickets available, etc. Most things are free, but since Covid they require a timed ticket to keep crowds lower. We have tickets to Ford’s Theatre, the Holocaust Museum, and the National Archives. We have requested tickets, from our Senator, to the White House and Capitol. We spent all day yesterday researching places to stay, but haven’t picked a place yet. It’s a little overwhelming!

Lucy used her Hobby Lobby gift card to purchase some decorations for her bedroom. She was being silly showing them off.

She spent last night with Mamaw and Bapaw

My U.S. History class took a trip to Toyota in Georgetown. We have recently read about Henry Ford creating the assembly line, so we toured the Toyota plant and saw it in action. It was pretty impressive. They make 2,000 cars per day!

A few last pictures from Elliott’s trip to FL with Mamaw and Bapaw. 

Yesterday was back to reality. Nonna and Grandpa Carroll went home and we did schoolwork… although Clay and Julia were off work/school, so it wasn’t completely back to normal.

Lucy and the neighbor girls had fun outside for hours last night.

Elliott has watched several documentaries on orcas and dolphins since returning from Florida.

Julia tried one of her gymnastics childhood tricks. She was a little too big this time.

Clay got cold, so he borrowed my jacket. 

We enjoyed the beautiful spring-like weather at the zoo. Kat stayed home to get a school assignment done.

Nonna and Grandpa Carroll took Lucy and me to see Annie. It was cute!

Homemade pizzas for dinner

Look who is home! He had a great trip. Boy, I missed him. Although the week was peaceful without him here harassing his sisters.
