March 31

Lucy had a JV track meet tonight. Elliott, Madi, Clay, and I all watched. She ran the 100m, 4x100, and 4x400. Her team finished first in their heat in the 4x100. Lucy even passed another girl on her leg of the 4x100.

March 30

Elliott’s team played Toby’s team tonight and won by the 10 run rule. We did NOT expect that to happen! Elliott’s hitting was his best so far this season.

March 29

Yesterday, while Clay was with Lucy at a track meet, I took Elliott (and Madi) to Nashville for a double header. It was about an hour from WKU, so Kat and Drew came to his games also. They won the first game 6-2 and lost the second one 4-5. Elliott caught the first game and played third for the second half of the second game.

We made the HUGE mistake of heading to the Opry Mills area after the games thinking that would be a fun place to hang out for a little while. The Opry Mills was packed-as in lines of traffic around the parking lot, etc. We ended up eating at Paula Dean’s because we were starving and gave up on trying to find parking for the mall. It was way more expensive than I planned on, but it was worth every penny just to watch my grown/nearly grown kids enjoy each other. The food was good too. Elliott and Drew are a comedy duo.

We stopped by Buc-ees on our way home. It made for a long day and a late night, but it was a lot of fun. My mama heart was full.

March 28

Lucy had a track meet this morning. It was a breezy 35 degrees during her first event. She ran the 100m, 4x100, and 4x200. She enjoys the relays.

March 27

Elliott was worn out. We didn’t get home from his baseball games until 11pm and then he had to be at work at 6am. After a nap, he got his schoolwork and chores done.

The rest of us had a low-key Friday. This has been a busy week!

March 26

Lucy competed in a high school track meet in the 100m and the 800m. This was her first time competing in both events. She came in fourth in her heat in the 100m. She decided that she doesn’t like the 800. She thinks she’d like the 400.

Thankfully Lucy’s two events were the first two events. Then we drove about 30 more minutes from home to Elliott’s games. Varsity lost 13-3. JV won 6-3. Elliott caught both games.

March 25

At Elliott’s game last night I was talking to one of his friend’s moms. Turns out that she and Clay were in the same high school graduating class! Small world!

Elliott’s team lost the Varsity game 5-1. JV won!

March 24

Lucy had her second track meet last night. Her 4x100 relay team placed 5th out of 24 teams and she improved her time in the 200m sprint from 34.42 to 33.56. It’s a lot of fun to watch her compete and make new friends.

There’s a lot of down time at a track meet. While the teams were warming up, I drew 275 circles for a VBS craft.

March 23

Kat headed back to school last night. We had a good visit.

After church we visited with Old Mamaw. She got to meet Drew.

Clay and I watched basketball yesterday. He worked on taxes and I made 80 sheriff’s vests out of paper bags for VBS. I have another 40 to go before this craft is done.

Bryson and his girlfriend were at the prom too.

I tried to rest some… this week is going to be super busy with three track meets and six baseball games.

Busy day!!! Double header and then prom. His team won both games, 7-0 and 8-2.

March 21

Clay changed Kat’s oil yesterday. She also got her four new tires for her car as hers were old and one had a split in the sidewall. Her spring break has been productive. This week she got her car tags renewed, did her taxes with Clay, and she also had a doctor’s appt.

Elliott is in homeschool tournament this weekend. They won their first game yesterday 13-3.

March 20

Lucy had her first track meet last night. At lunch time she reminded me that we hadn’t bought her spikes yet. Doh! Off to the store we went. Nothing like dropping the ball!

Watching Lucy compete was fun. It was a JV competition, so the kids were older than her. She held her own and she seemed to have fun with her teammates. Next week she will compete against middle schoolers, so that will be more competitive for her.

Meanwhile, Kat and Bethany were at Elliott’s game. Clay, Lucy, and I got there in the third inning. These two girls. Ha!

Elliott caught the whole game. He had a designated hitter, but he was solid behind the plate. Balls that might have gotten past him last year, didn’t get by him. They lost 3-2.

March 19

I got two VBS crafts prepped yesterday. Only a million to go! This is a preschool craft. We have four days of VBS and each day has multiple crafts, one for each age group.

We had a bunch of pots and saucers in our back resource closet. We found a good craft to put them to use!

March 18

Yesterday was a long day. It was a long day before lunch!

- I left the house at 7:20 am to head to the kids’ school for registration (classes are first come, first serve). Well, traffic was terrible because of a little snow we got overnight. It took me an hour to get to school, instead of 30 minutes.

- On my way to school, Elliott called to tell me he got a flat tire. Thankfully, Clay was off work and came to his rescue.

- After waiting in line for an hour, I turned in all the registration forms. I went to Sam’s Club right after registration and the proceeded to leave the groceries in the van for a couple of hours after I got home. Thankfully it was cold enough outside that the groceries were still cold.

Kat’s hamster died. We knew it was coming, but it just added to the morning.

Clay filed the mountain of paperwork that was piled on top of the file cabinet. I hate filing things. Ha!

His outfit was something else when we went outside to look at Elliott’s tires.

Elliott got a trim. Madi’s school’s prom is Saturday.

March 16

I went into church for a few hours to prep Wednesday night’s elementary craft and take care of a few odds and ends. We had a bunch of small pots in the back closet. I found a good use for them!

Lucy’s track practice was canceled today because of the freezing temperatures. Elliott’s games were also canceled tonight. It was 75 degrees yesterday and 30 degrees with snow flurries today.

March 15

Jade and Toby spent the night last night. Jade and I made crafts, cooked dinner, and watched a movie.

Kat is home this week for Spring Break.

March 14

Lucy and I went to a Mother-Daughter middle school event this morning. She had a slumber party at her friend Rebecca’s house after that.

March 12

Lucy had an orthodontist appt this morning. She talked me into McD’s for breakfast after her appt. Jade wanted a milkshake. Ha! Doesn’t Lucy look thrilled to have her picture taken?

Jade helped me finish stuffing 170 Easter goody bags.

March 11

Yesterday was the mom’s group at church. We had 47 kids in childcare. The lesson was Noah’s Ark, so it was easy to find fun crafts and snacks.

Elliott had his first scrimmage last night. They won (if you can win a scrimmage?).
