Elliott had a game last night. He had a headache and didn’t play his best. His team lost by a lot.

Lucy was baptized yesterday! It was a good day.

September 28

It was brought to my attention this week that the children’s ministry at church had stuff in a closet that we didn’t even know had our stuff in it. I cleared out the closet. Now to sort through all the stuff… new project loading.

Nonna arrived yesterday for Lucy’s baptism. They sorted through Christmas cards that were given to Nonna as a donation for a senior citizen’s home.

Kat came home for the weekend for Lucy’s baptism. We also celebrated her birthday.

I was with Elliott across town for a driving school lesson (parallel parking, fine tuning his skills, etc) when Lucy sent me this picture. She said “What did I do!?!”. She was hoping I would freak out. I told her the bangs looked cute.

A little while later she sends me this picture. Turd.

September 25

Elliott had a game tonight. He played third base. He struck out once, got walked once, and got a single. His team won 7-1.

I have been having fun getting the church nursery organized. We donated a bunch of stuff (crib, two rocking chairs, an exersaucer, a swing, and toys) to one of our new campuses. It was time to get some new books and toys for our campus. I bought gently-used baby stuff at a consignment store.

I took all the baby blankets, bibs, burp cloths, sheets, etc home to wash.

Because I know you were super curious, I labeled all of the bead drawers at church. Ha!

I also sorted ALL the stickers and labeled the drawers. One project down, 50,000,001 to go…

Elliott went to a youth group high school retreat this weekend.

Lucy showed me how she makes her fabulous chocolate chip cookies, so now I am making them weekly for the next month for volunteers in the kids ministry at church. Doesn’t she look thrilled to have her picture taken?

We give a gift bag for new babies at church. My friend Tracy made these to give to each baby. I love them! 

September 21

We let Lucy drive us around a parking lot tonight. Believe it or not, she can get her permit in 15 months. 
 

September 20

I had to drop Elliott off at church for a high school youth retreat. There was about an hour to kill before I could prep classrooms for Sunday morning (I have to wait for the weekday preschool to leave). I used that time to get all of the beads organized. There are sooo many projects like this that need to get done. One tackled. Many more to come!

Clay took Lucy out to dinner and then we tried to watch a movie called “Invisible Man”. It was too creepy for me and Lucy. We bailed about 20 minutes in! 

September 19

Elliott’s team won last night, 12-7. He played second base two innings and pitched one inning. He had one hit and got hit by two different pitches! He’s been hit by five pitches in 4 games this fall. He needs a booty shield to protect his butt! 

September 18

Last night’s craft at church was a hit. I needed a fall craft to put in the glass case by the welcome desk. We made foil marker leaf prints. Even the two year-olds participated. I had little boys telling me they enjoyed the craft.

I love the way they turned out!

I visited with Old Mamaw earlier today. We went outside and enjoyed some fresh air and visited with other residents.

 

September 17

Happy 48th Anniversary Mamaw and Bapaw!

Old Mamaw called me yesterday. She fell in her apartment. Mamaw and Bapaw are out of town celebrating their anniversary. Thankfully she didn’t break anything, but she was sore. I stayed the night with her to make sure she was okay. I had some Sunday School crafts with me, so I spent the evening cutting up crafts and hanging out with Old Mamaw.

I figured out the Thanksgiving placemats design and made examples for each classroom. The kids’ handprints will be the “O”. For the babies, we will use their footprints.

September 16

Lucy and I went to a workout class that my friend Meghan leads. Oy! She tried to kick our butts!

Concession stand food is the best

Elliott caught in the inter-squad game last night. He had a couple of hits, got hit by a pitch, and struck out once.

I spent the morning at church organizing soccer shirts/shorts/game schedules/rosters for rec. I am the Kids Min and Recreation Assistant. Soccer games start this weekend.

We had dinner with Scott, Lana, Greg, and Jill last night. Afterwards we were hanging out at Scott and Lana’s house. Lana, Jill, and I were making fun of our old men standing outside staring at grass… likely talking about their yard/grass treatment. 

September 12

Elliott had a game last night. He got walked twice, got hit by a pitch, and got a base hit (single). Played third two innings, 2nd one inning, and pitched two innings. He had four strikeouts. They won 18-1.
