Kat in the Hat!
This week at Kat's school they are learning the letter "C" and the color red. Yesterday she came home like this because it was Cat in the Hat Day.

Summer is gone - fast! Friday it was 90 degrees. Today's high is 64. We had to pull out the long sleeves, pants, and jackets this morning! For dinner we're having chili and I am getting ready to make some pumpkin bread. I have been waiting for you Fall!

Yesterday after church Julia got to go to a birthday party at All About Kids. That is her up on the balance beam.

Kat had her 4 year-old checkup this morning. She weighs 35 pounds (50th percentile) and is 40 3/4 inches tall (70th percentile). She got 4 shots today and didn't cry. She sat and watched the nurse give them to her. Clay says she is tough and she is going to be a MMA fighter. Not!

Elliott got a sucker too, so he was a happy camper.

Yesterday was Kat's 4th Birthday party.

Kat wanted a ladybug cake. She wanted it to be purple, orange, red, and pink because those are her favorite colors and she wanted the spots to be pink hearts. She knows what she likes (wonder where she gets that?).

Yesterday I went to the zoo with Julia's class field trip. There were enough parents chaperoning the trip that I just had Julia and one other little girl. It's the first time in over 5 years I have been to the zoo without a stroller. It was nice, but hot.

We went to Chuck-E-Cheese last night for Kat's birthday dinner. Kat's buddy Camryn came with us.

Elliott is such a good, happy baby. Alot of fun!


This morning Kat and Elliott are going to Mamaw Pat's for the day and I am going to chapperone Julia's field trip to the zoo. Should be fun! Wish it weren't going to be 90 degrees outside (this will be the 84th day in 2010 that we've reached 90+degrees - a new record!). Is October really only a week away!?!

Happy 4th Birthday Sara Kathryn (Kat)!!!

Four years ago today we were blessed with our second baby girl. We love our strong-willed, smart, healthy, food-obsessed, craft-loving, silly little girl! Did I mention that she is strong-willed?

She wanted sausage and cinnamon toast for breakfast, so we gave her a candle in her sausage and sang "Happy Birthday".

Today was "dress like your favorite book character day" at preschool (she is Ariel).

My friend Carolyn babysat Elliott so that I could go to Julia's school this morning. I worked with other parents of kids in Julia's class peeling and slicing apples. We filled 4 crockpots full so the kindergarten classes can have applesauce this afternoon in honor of Johny Appleseed Day. I also got to eat lunch with Julia. It was a nice morning.

Tonight we're going to Chuck-E-Cheese for Kat's birthday. I think I am going to try and sneak in a nap this afternoon!

Is this Critter not the cutest stinkin' thing you ever saw? My friend Tracy (Polka Dot Whimsy) made it for Elliott. I gave her one of my favorite outfits of Elliott's and his crib quilt, plus she added some of her own fabric. I LOVE it! Thanks Tracy!

Julia fixed her own hair for school yesterday. She did a great job!

This week is letter "B" week at Kat's preschool. She is bringing in these Beautiful Butterflies for snacks (they are supposed to go with the theme of the week).
