Happy Birthday Grandpa Tim!!!

We had a busy busy day yesterday. Clay took the day off work, so we headed to KY Kingdom.

I spy Clay and a nervous Kat

Why am I riding a baby ride? Because Lucy wanted to ride the swings and could not unless an adult rode with her. I wedged myself into that little thing. Lucy enjoyed it. Notice the Grandpa in it behind Elliott. We looked ridiculous.

Lucy said, "I don't want it!" It was funny and pitiful.

 Big kids enjoyed it.

 Peek-a-boo!

 She enjoyed this ride.

That's Clay, Julia, and Elliott about to get soaked at the bridge of a water ride.

 Yep, it worked!

And since spending five hours in the hot hot sun wasn't enough, we met some friends at the Science Center. It was Teacher Appreciation Night, so they offered free admission for teachers (homeschoolers included) and their families. It is hard to pass up a free visit to the Science Center.

On our drive home, Clay and I were trying to decide when we'd ever been as tired. After having a baby and being in labor all night long is the answer we came up with. Yep. We were exhausted, but it was a fun day!

May 28

Enjoying some time outside playing with Aqua Sand, riding bikes, etc.

We are getting ready for summer at our house. The kids and I worked on our Summer Bucket List a couple of weeks ago and have already completed a couple of items on it. Last year was our first year having a Bucket List and it went over really well. We have a lot of the same things on our list from last year, but the kids each added/highlighted 10 things that they really want to make sure we do.

This year I am adding a Summer Must-Do Chart. Can you tell I love charts, lists, etc? It's more of a guide to keep us from getting too bored, and also to keep the girls and Elliott doing a little bit of learning every morning. We seem to do better if we have some sort of routine, schedule.
  • Make-It Mondays we will make something - a craft, recipe, etc.
  • Take-a-Trip Tuesday we will go someplace - park, zoo, something from our Bucket List, etc
  • Water Wednesdays will be to a water park, splash park, swimming, Slip-N-Slide, water gun fight, etc.
  • Thinking Thursdays the kids will learn something new. I found a cool science series on You Tube called Smarter Every Day that has 10-15 minute videos, so we will start with those and see where it leads.
  • Friend Fridays we will make play dates with friends.
Alot of these can be combined, like taking friends on our trips with us, etc. but it will be a nice guide to keep me organized and to let the kids know what to expect. Our friend Jonathan will be hanging out with us again this summer as soon as his school year is done. Yay! (*Jonathan, give me your list to add to our Bucket List, or if it's something on the list already, let me know to mark it so we do it on the days you are here)
