August 31

Kat and Elliott were at CEC today, so Lucy tagged along on my urology appointment. The good news? I can have coffee in moderation. The bad news? No more dark sodas (so long Diet Dr Pepper) or chocolate! We went to a coffee shop afterwards to get school done.

Elliott’s game got canceled because of rain. We went to the batting cages instead.

My Grandpa Rich (GGPop) passed away in the middle of the night. He passed in his sleep. Pray for our family, especially Nonna.

Payton, Lucy, and Lucie worked hard in PE (as evidenced by their red, sweaty skin)

Nothing’s gonna stop these two from playing on the trampoline. Not even rain!

Happy 13th birthday, Elliott!!!

Elliott had a baseball game after church. His sisters were encouraged to come to the game since it was his birthday.

Elliott got a set of golf clubs for his birthday. These were Papaw C’s clubs that Bapaw Rick cut down and put new grips on. Clay and I got his golf bag.

We had 13 kids come over for Elliott’s birthday. 13 kids. That is a lot. It was fun, but it was a lot of kids.

We played the baby food game first.

Followed by the tortilla challenge… they would slap each other with tortillas and try not to spit out any of the water they held in their mouth. This game got kinda crazy with a bunch of boys.

Clay bought trick candles for my birthday. He also thought using 45 of them was a good idea. The flames got pretty high. He had to spray them with water to put them out. We also had to put the cheesecake back in the fridge to cool off. It started to melt!

Julia’s photographer finished editing her Senior pictures. These were my favorites.

Elliott spent most of his woodworking class sanding down all the pieces for his jiu jitsu belt holder (there’s more than one piece).

I got 3 yearbook pages finished.

August 25

Lucy and I ran errands yesterday and had lunch at Sam’s Club. She got plenty of carbs and dairy. Veggies and fruit? Not so much!

We paid a visit to Old Mamaw.

Julia donated her hair. She got 8 inches cut off.

Elliott had chess club after school yesterday. The teacher requested a few parents volunteer, so I did. Elliott didn’t care, but Kat informed me it is embarrassing that I am volunteering at school. Teens are delightful. No teens/tweens that came from my womb were spoken to during chess club. Apparently just my existence is embarrassing. Ha!

Wednesday nights started back up at church. I am the 4th and 5th grade girls leader again. This will be my last year having a student in the elementary program! What the what!?!

Pictures from the middle school youth group party on Friday.

Devotional

Elliott had his second game last night. They won again. He’s learned that there is a lot of standing around waiting in baseball at this level.

Things were so busy busy busy at co-op that the only pictures I got were the ones someone sent in to the yearbook. Lucy’s PE class worked their butts off! Her teacher is a certified CrossFit instructor.

Elliott got sung to for his 13th birthday

After co-op, Aunt Nikole invited Lucy over for a tea party with Nora and her cousin.

August 22

Kidney stone passed ✔️ I woke up feeling much better! It’s hard to believe something so tiny causes so much pain. And nausea-oy!

Running home

Elliott had a good first game. His first at-bat he had a hit and an RBI. He struck out at his only other time batting, but he went down swinging. He played short stop, but nobody ever hit it to him. It’s a developmental league, so they don’t keep score. However, his team won!
