August 31

I was one of the teachers in Lucy's Sunday School room this morning.

The girls studied Indiana this week, so they made Hoosier Pie (sugar creme pie). Yum!

August 30

The kids and I met Peggy downtown at Worldfest. It was really neat to see the parade come down the street with people from all over the world wearing their native costumes. We saw an Irish pipe and drum band, African dancers, and Chinese dancers.

Then we switched gears from world culture to redneck culture... we met Mamaw, Bapaw, Joe, and Nikole for some go-carting.

Three little kids being driven by three big kids.

 Elliott enjoyed his ride.

Can you tell by his smile that he was happy? Elliott told me ,"That was too much fun!" He also asked if we could go back tomorrow.  Look out NASCAR!

August 29

Elliott has been having alot of fun playing with his new toys. These are Juggle Bubbles. They are one of those "As Seen on TV" items you can buy at Wal-Mart. They actually work - most of the time.

Lego fun!

Happy 5th Birthday Elliott!

We had a few of Elliott's buddies over for a play date. I say play date, because Clay was upset with me for having a birthday party for Elliott on a weekday while he was at work. It really did start out as a play date. I told his friends no gifts, we weren't having cake, and I didn't decorate. Well, Elliott asked me for a pinata (we did one at the girls' 5th birthdays), then we had donuts (with candles), and there might have been a couple of presents. But I am still maintaining that this was just a really fun play date... on Elliott's birthday... remember that I mentioned no decorations!?!

I love that Gus is licking his chops... those donuts must look good.

We met Mamaw and Papaw at Pizza King for dinner. As we were getting back in the car, Elliott told me that he had a fun birthday. Although he did have to go to bed as soon as we got home for pushing Lucy. Doh!

August 27

Elliott turns 5 tomorrow. After the kids went to bed, I had fun looking through old pictures and finding some of my favorite memories of the Wee Dude.

One of my all-time favorites. Clay was in shock that we have a boy! We didn't find out his sex until delivery.

 Family of five.

Back when Elliott was bigger than Matthew... buddies since birth.
