Getting some homework done at the library while Lucy was at CrossFit.

Fun with the little people at church.

January 29

Clay and I worked out last night. We then proceeded to come home to fresh-baked snickerdoodles, courtesy of Lucy. Yum!

These shorts at the Goodwill reminded me of 10 year-old Julia. She loved her some hot pink and zebra print.

January 28

This girl has had stomach issues for a long time. The issues have escalated to vomiting frequently for the last few weeks. I have reached out to friends and relatives who are lactose and/or gluten intolerant to get advice. Kat has an appt with a GI Dr, but not until Mid-February. She wanted to see a doctor sooner, so she made an appt with the Pediatrician. I went along in case they drew blood (she doesn’t do well with that). They said they would let the GI Dr do that because that test will be more thorough. They suggested cutting out dairy (because we think that might be the culprit) and documenting any time she is nauseous or vomits and what she ate prior to that. I may have laughed at my 18 year-old on the table with Ninja Turtle wall decor.

January 27

Lucy giving herself a mani. She wasn’t feeling good again Saturday night (or most of yesterday), so she and Clay stayed home from church. I’d say a lock-in wasn’t her best move after just getting over a fever.

Elliott napped after church and being dragged to the grocery store.

We watched the NFL yesterday.

Clay completed another puzzle.

We had a (mostly) relaxing Sunday. Here’s to a new week!

January 26

While Lucy was at woodworking, Elliott and Toby did schoolwork while waiting for baseball practice.

Lucy started feeling bad Thursday after woodworking. She had a 101.5 temperature.

She woke up feeling fine Friday so she got schoolwork done, including this experiment on circuits.

Clay got home Friday afternoon. Friday starting at 11:55pm until Saturday at 6am, Elliott and Lucy went to a youth group lock-in.

After a bridal shower, I stopped by Chick-Fil-A to see Kat in action (and have a frosted lemonade-yum!).

I ordered a new Christmas tree after Christmas when they were on a huge sale. Hopefully this one lasts 20 years too!

January 23

Clay has been sending us pictures of his meals while he is in Vegas.

So we sent him a picture of us eating out last night (in between school, CrossFit, and church. Jaggers is yummy, but it’s no creme brûlée!!!

Pamela getting her exercise. We learned the hard way that the “lid/door” has to be taped to stay closed.

Clay and co-workers attended an NHL game last night in Vegas.

My “big” boy won’t let me sell the small table and chairs because he uses the chairs when he plays PlayStation. Ha! Looks comfortable, right?

Can you smell this picture?

First attempt at air frying a chicken. It was pretty good. I did have to break the breast bones to get it to fit.

January 19

Lucy and I visited with Old Mamaw yesterday. Lucy hung out with her for awhile so that I could meet Kat for a doctor appointment. Kat had to leave work because she threw up. She has been struggling with illness since Tuesday. She was tested for Covid, strep, and flu. She got the dreaded “viral” diagnosis and given nausea medicine.

Clay and Elliott went to the UK basketball game.

Lucy in her happy place -Hobby Lobby

She created this with her Hobby Lobby finds (the jar has shells and lights).

Clay spent the evening packing. He is in Vegas this week for work.

I subbed in the first grade yesterday. It’s a class I subbed last semester and really enjoyed.

January 17

Clay, Elliott, and I went to gym last night.

January 16

Wednesday nights at church have started again. I am working in the 1 and 2 year-old room.

January 15

Lucy got braces yesterday! She only has them on the top teeth for now. They are going to correct her overbite before they put brackets on the bottom (when she closes her mouth, her top teeth complete cover the bottom teeth and she would break off the bottom brackets).

Mamaw, Bapaw, Kat, and I went to the UK game last night. Mamaw and I were on the jumbo tron! They have a Snackwards Cam segment where they show people eating in reverse (looks like you are puking up your food). We are basically famous now, and are happy to give autographs.

Apparently Clay buzzed Elliott’s hair last night. Elliott told Clay not to tell me. He wanted to surprise me with it this morning. It worked! I was not expecting it!

January 14

Yesterday was science experiment day for both kids. Lucy had four experiments relating to general chemistry. Elliott had three related to Newton’s First Law.

Lucy had to write a poem about an animal for her English class. She wrote about Gus.

January 13

Sourdough pretzels and beer cheese-yum!

The sun came out (finally) and melted some of the snow. There’s still plenty left.

January 11

We got around 3 more inches of snow, for a total of around 14 inches this week.

I feel like all I have done all week is feed people and do dishes.

My 2024 Snapfish book arrived

January 10

Clay, Elliott, Lucy, and I went sledding at the golf course yesterday evening. The sledding wasn’t great because the snow has a layer of ice on top and it isn’t smooth. We are supposed to get another 3-6 inches today, so maybe sledding will be better then.

Julia headed back to school yesterday before the next round of snow arrives.
