July 31

 Happy 64th Anniversary Ma-Maw and Pa-Paw C!!!
Lucy is sending you guys her love on your anniversary....

We have been doing school part-time this summer just trying to get it all figured out. It's actually gone much better than I anticipated. It helps that both girls are good students and smart. Yesterday we added Latin, Typewriting, and Cursive Handwriting to the core classes (Math, Reading, Science, History, etc).

Trying out her new sippy cup.

We held our own Olympics last night. Mamaw Pat and Peggy joined in on the fun.

Shooting
Javelin

Jump rope
Relay race

Hula hoop

Getting the hula hoop through the team without breaking hands

Ping pong toss
Hitting balloons into hoops (this doesn't work when your grass is dry and brittle)
Our final event was the cheese puff toss (we had cool whip on our shower caps)

Team Zombie Mode got the gold medals
Team Purple Sunshine got the Silver medals

There may have been a brief intermission when Clay pulled out the leaf blower and we had a little fun. If you judge an evening's fun by whether or not (or how much) "tears" flow down your legs, then last night was ALOT of fun!

Julia tried to stay awake for the gymnastics, but she crashed
And just in case you didn't laugh at something in this post, this ought to do it!

July 29

This morning the girls (and all the other kids from Music Camp) were worship leaders at church.

In honor of the Olympics starting, we made Olympic rings using m&m's.... a craft even Elliott enjoyed!

July 27

The girls' last day of Music Camp was today. The kids performed for the parents and then the church provided us with a yummy lunch afterwards. Sunday they sing all three church services. Julia is going to be facing her fear of performing in public over and over again! :P

Julia and Kat are in the front row center.

After lunch, Ryan was putting the moves on Lucy
So proud of my little worship leaders! They had a fun week with their friends. Such a great group of kiddos!

July 26

Peek-A-Toe (Julia, Kat, and now Lucy have worn these pajamas. Looks like it's time to retire them).

After dropping the girls off at Music Camp yesterday, Elliott, Lucy, and I hung out with Tracy, Matthew, and Jonathan. Elliott had alot of fun playing with the boys (and all their boy toys) at their house.

All of my kids are quirky sleepers. Every time I check on Lucy, she has the blanket over her face.

July 25

Last night we went over to Mamaw and Bapaw's house for Bapaw's birthday

The babies are plotting... I have a feeling these two are going to get into alot of trouble together!

 Bonk!

Bapaw teaching Elliott to golf. I have a feeling these two are also going to get into alot of trouble together.

July 24

Happy Birthday Bapaw Rick!

The girls started Music Camp at church yesterday and will continue all this week. When I picked them up from camp, Kat's first statement was, "Mom, we didn't go camping." Apparently she thought they would sing songs and sleep in a tent?

When we got home from camp we worked on some school projects. One included making salt dough dolphins to go in our ocean boxes (pictures to come). After each lesson in our Science book, the girls will add a sea creature to their ocean boxes. We learned alot of really cool things about whales the past 2 weeks. Did you know dolphins are whales? Julia made her dolphin (without any help) pretty detailed, including the fluke, blowhole, beak, and dorsal fin. If you see the girls, ask them some of the cool things they learned about how sound travels, different types of whales, the migration of whales, etc.

July 23

After church yesterday, we came home and took it easy the rest of the day. I even got in a nap- miracle of miracles! Clay and I were lying in our bed by 9pm last night - and we LOVED it! We're so wild, right?

When you put Kat's face next to Clay's, it's apparent how much they look alike (especially their eyes). Even more apparent? Elliott looks nothing like them!

July 22

Bapaw Rick and Papaw G came over for dinner Friday night.

While grocery shopping the other day at Wal-Mart, we saw this "Squishy Baff". The kids had a good time playing around in it. There was blue Squishy Baff on my shower curtain, walls, toilet, and floor. No more squishy Baff... at least not in the house. It might be fun outside in a baby pool.

Clay took the training wheels off Kat's bike last night. She rode up and down the street a couple of times without Clay holding on (he ran beside her). She just needs to learn to start it and stop it without help!

Water balloons - it took me 20 minutes to fill the balloons with water, and about 2 minutes before they were gone. So we moved on to more efficient ways to get wet - the sprinkler.

Even Clay cooled off in the sprinkler!
