Happy Halloween!

This morning started out with a trick (well, it definitely wasn't a treat)! Julia started off the morning by throwing up. She doesn't have a fever, so hopefully she doesn't throw up anymore so she can go trick-or-treating.

Yesterday we went to a play date with Mom's Group.

Kat can climb the playground at McDonald's now without help.

Yesterday Mommy & the girls started Christmas shopping. After dinner Daddy worked on the dirt pile in our back yard again. The girls helped Mommy make pumpkin bread.

Kat wants to type, so here goes: hh hhhhhhh h hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Funny Kat Story: last night 3 different times Kat told Mommy "I feel sick" followed by "I feel bad". Mommy would ask her where it hurts and she would reply "My chin. Kiss it. Feel better."

We're making progress! This morning Mommy asked Kat if she could wash Doggy (her beloved stuffed animal) since he was dirty. She ran and hid taking him with her. So Mommy left it at that and started a load of laundry. A few minutes later Kat brought Doggy to Mommy to let her wash him!

Here are some pictures that Mommy snagged off Christy's blog from Saturday at Six Flags (thanks Christy!):

Daddy and Joey with their strollers... aren't they cool? Should we get a shot of them in their minivans next?

On Sunday Daddy went to the store to pick up his reserved "Rock Band World Tour" for the Wii ... so that's what we've been doing for 2 days now.

Last night after dinner we carved our pumpkin. We're looking for a good recipe for toasting pumpkin seeds... so if you have one, send it our way!

Yesterday after naps we went to Six Flags for Fright Fest. The girls got to Trick-or-Treat and ride the rides. It was a little cool outside, but the crowds were small so it was a good day to go. We ran into Joey, Christy, Trystan, Ethan, & Emma while we were there so we rode rides with them (Julia and Ethan rode the kiddie coaster 5 times!). They invited us over to their house for pizza and Rock Band afterwards, so we did that until bedtime. It was a fun day!

Last night we went to the Fall Festival at church. The girls had fun playing games and jumping on bouncers.

This morning we woke up to rain. It's supposed to rain all day so we decided to go to Art Sparks, a hands-on art zone for kids. We had a good time, but unfortunately a field trip of 5th graders came in about 15 minutes after us, so it got loud and crazy. We left from there and headed to McDonald's. We got out of the van and walked (in the rain) into McDonald's only to find that 2 school buses of kids on field trips were there too! We came home and ate bologna sandwiches instead.

This morning we are getting ready to head to Mom's Group and then tonight Mamaw and Bapaw are coming over for dinner.

Last night Mommy and the girls went to pick out a big pumpkin (the ones we got at the pumpkin patch were too small for carving). We saw them at Kroger yesterday but they were $6 so Mommy didn't buy one. When Mommy suggested we go find a pumpkin after dinner, Julia stated, "We could go to Sam's Club. They probably have them there." Wise beyond her years!

This morning we met Jill and her kids at the zoo. It was pretty chilly when we first got there but got more comfortable as the morning went on. The kids had a lot of fun and got lots of fresh air (hopefully they'll take long naps!). Tonight we have Mission Friends at church.

Yesterday we didn't do much of anything. Mommy babysat Bailey during the day and then Mommy and the girls worked in the church nursery last night. Kat was out of sorts last night, crying for a majority of the 2 hours we were at church. She's been fine today - thank goodness!

We went to the grocery store this morning and then Brody came over to play for a little while before lunchtime. Kat has been asleep for 2 1/2 hours (and counting!). She even slept through the dump truck delivering a second load of topsoil - and it was loud!

Yesterday after church and naps we spread the dirt out in the backyard (Daddy did most of the work). After dinner, Daddy and Julia went to Lowe's while Mommy and Kat held down the fort. Mommy put all the girls' summer clothes away and got their winter clothes out of boxes and then cleaned the house.

Yesterday afternoon we headed to Slowpoke Farm to pick pumpkins with Mommy & Daddy's Sunday School Class. We got to feed goats, a pig & cows, go through a hay maze and a corn maze, and go on a hay ride. It was a beautiful Fall day and we had a great time!

Last night Mommy and Daddy had a date. We went out to eat, to see the movie "Burn After Reading", and then went to a Haunted House. It was nice to spend time together. The girls kept Scottie busy while Mommy and Daddy were gone; they had fun too!

Funny Story: At one point Scottie and Kat were cuddled on the couch watching a movie and Julia was off being very quiet. When Scottie went to check on her, she was "washing her hair" in the bathroom... she was putting liquid hand soap in her hair! Needless to say it's a good thing it was bath night anyways - baths came a little earlier than planned!

Welcome to the world Nickolas Steven!!! Congrats Aimee, Jamie, & Ryan!

This morning Mommy's good friend Aimee called to say that she had given birth to a healthy (and very sweet) baby boy. Mommy took the girls to Jill's house to play with Brody and Mollie so she could go to the hospital and see Aimee and baby Nick. After Mommy picked up the girls (thanks Jill!!!) we went to McD's for lunch. The girls are napping right now and then Scottie is coming to babysit tonight so Mommy & Daddy can go on a date!

Baby Nick and proud Mama!
