Recently 2 people have told me that Lucy looks like Elliott. I just don't see it, but it may be because their coloring is so different (little dude already has a tan, and Lucy is fair skinned with reddish hair). I think she looks more like Julia, and Clay think she looks like Kat. What do you think? I have posted pictures of each of the kids at 4 1/2 - 5 months old in birth order (Julia, Kat, Elliott, and Lucy).

Clay took today off work to go to the dentist (and take Julia to get 2
fillings) and run some other errands. I got all the laundry and sheets
washed - yuck!

Elliott playing "The Grand Prize Game". Do you remember the Bozo Show?
I was looking for Kat yesterday because it was quiet in the house. I found her in her bed reading a book! I love that she loves to read!
Yesterday afternoon we were invited to a gymnastics birthday party for a sweet girl from church. The kids had alot of fun.
Today we have church, Kat is going to a roller skating birthday party, and Julia has choir. Life is never dull!

Last night was one of those nights when I wish I could have an IV of coffee put directly into my veins. I got to bed around midnight, which is late for me, Elliott woke up twice between 2 and 2:30am, and then Lucy woke up at 5am. Ugh!
Elliott had alot of fun playing with dishes and water in the sink yesterday.
Green Smoothie (sideways): 2 apples, 2 kiwi, a banana, a cucumber, and 2 handfuls of spinach. Elliott and I had these for lunch yesterday. I thought they were okay. He loved it and wanted more! This afternoon I made another one and added a little orange juice... yummy!
I'm Done/Waiting Activities: I got these ideas off Pinterest. When we are homeschooling, the girls will be picking a stick each day when they are done with their work or waiting on me before we can move on to the next subject.

Watching Elliott do puzzles
"Whatchu lookin' at?"
Lucy's rockin' a skullet (a mullet, but with alot more skull than hair)
Gus is lying on Lucy's feet. He always wants to be on one of us. He's a 50 pound lap dog!
I love how Gus doesn't even bother to get out of the way... or maybe he's trapped!?!

We went to Meijers yesterday and had excellent customer service! Elliott always likes to look at the lobsters, and this time an employee asked me if he could get one out to let Elliott touch it. I have a feeling Elliott is going to think he should touch them from now on (yikes!). The lady behind the deli counter also gave Elliott a treat! That boy manages to charm everyone!
- Monday Julia had gymnastics
- Last night I had a VBS meeting at church
- Tonight we have AWANA at church
- Thursday night I am babysitting Brady and Caleb
- Friday night we have childcare for Julia, Elliott, and Lucy (at church). Clay and I are taking Kat out on a date to Chuck-E-Cheese (her special treat since Julia got to go to American Girl Place in Chicago).

April 23
We had a somewhat lazy day at home yesterday. We were all pretty worn out from Thunder on Saturday. We didn't make it to church (a certain Mama didn't get out of bed until 8:30am). I did laundry and got all four kids bathed and in a clean pair of pajamas, but that's about it. Clay fixed a toilet, did some yard work, took his car to be fixed (he backed into a co-worker's car last week), and hung out with his brother Joe for awhile.

April 22
Yesterday was Thunder Over Louisville, the kickoff to the Derby
Festival, which is a pretty big deal around here. We love Thunder. It's a
great air show followed by the largest fireworks display in North
America. I heard on the news yesterday that it took 18 semi trucks to
bring all the fireworks for Thunder. Crazy!
This year we did something a little different. We had tickets to the Bats game (AAA baseball team) which is right on the Ohio River, the location for Thunder. So we watched a baseball game, then a concert at the field, and while we were watching the game/concert, we could see the air show and then the fireworks. It was nice not having to use the Thunder Pots (port-a-potties), especially since Elliott is new to potty training. Having the Slugger Field's food, playground, and seats (not having to bring our own chairs) was also very convenient. And since we had Lucy with us, having the ability to take her inside where it was warm when she got tired of being in the Moby (baby carrier) was great too.
However, we have decided we like where we usually sit, in a grassy area for the kids to run and play where it's not so crowded. You feel more a part of the event because you are closer to the action. I like to feel the ground shake when the fireworks go off. I also prefer watching Thunder when we are not forced to wear coats and have blankets for warmth. The temp was in the 50s, but the sun never came out, so it felt like the 40s. We said that we would not go again if the temps didn't get into the 60s, but that probably won't be the case. Every year we feel compelled to go. One more tip if you ever think about going to Thunder - do NOT park in a parking garage unless you don't mind being stuck in the garage after Thunder. We literally did not leave our parking place for an hour and a half after Thunder was over because of the traffic gridlock (400,000 people trying to leave all at once) . We didn't get home until 12:15am, 2 hours after the fireworks were over! It's better to park a mile or so away from Thunder and then walk fast to your car after it's over. We are usually home withing 45 minutes of Thunder being over.

Peggy also attended the Bats game, so we hung out with her for awhile.
Slugger Field has 2 really nice playgrounds
Hot chocolate to keep warm.
Elliott was so tired he fell asleep during the fireworks
