March 31

We all got new mattresses delivered today. The twin beds for the girls had 20+ year old mattresses that weren't comfortable, so theirs was needed. Mommy and Daddy's wasn't needed so much as wanted. We got a king size Temper-pedic! Only thing is, we don't have any bedding for a king size bed, so we have to go shopping today or we won't be able to sleep on it.

PS - Now that we have a nice new mattress, maybe (hopefully) Mommy can talk Daddy into saving for nice bedroom furniture so we can get rid of the $70 Big Lots dresser Mommy bought for herself right out of college. The drawer fronts are falling off!

March 30

Last night Daddy got his car stuck in mud in our side yard while trying to jump his motorcycle. So today after church, Bapaw Rick came over and helped him get the car out and also build a plywood path so he could get his motorcycle into the garage (to show it to a potential buyer- yeah!). The girls and Mommy played with sidewalk chalk while the men worked.

Stuck!

Nice work Daddy!

Here's a yummy recipe for the Chocolate Chip Cheeseball from Carolyn:

INGREDIENTS
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. butter, softened (no substitutes)
1/4 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. confectioners sugar
2 tbs. brown sugar
3/4 c. mini chocolate chips
3/4 c. finely chopped nuts (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
Beat in a mixing bowl, cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add sugars, beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours. Place mixture on large piece of clear film. Shape into a ball, wrap with clear film, and refrigerate 1 hour. Just before serving, roll in chopped nuts. Serve with graham crackers.

March 29

This morning Daddy ran in the Papa Johns 10 Miler. He finished with a time of 1:24:27 (a little under 8 1/2 minutes per mile - go Daddy!). While he was running, Julia and Mommy finger painted (Kat was napping). Then we went mattress shopping and bought the girls a new twin each and Mommy and Daddy are getting a king size bed! After that we went to church for a Sunday School fellowship in the gym (the spider is a remote control toy... our church doesn't have spiders THAT big - at least we hope not. Right Mamaw Pat?) And Mommy got her hair cut earlier in the week... Nonna should be pleased.

March 28

Well, this is my third or fourth attempt at a blog, but each time I have deleted it before getting very far because I haven't wanted to put the work into it. I love visiting my friend's blog sites and thought my friends and family might like to see regular updates on the girls. So here goes...
