July 15

Lucy, Abbie, and I spent a HOT day at Kentucky Kingdom. I took a book and mostly found places in the air conditioning or by the water to read. ​

July 14

​I babysat a couple of kids from church this afternoon/evening. We had fun at the park and then visited my favorite Chick-Fil-A employee for dinner (Kat was not dressed as a cow).

​Lucy and I hung out with Shannon and the girls today.

​It has rained and rained and rained… that “pond” in my neighbor’s yard? It’s not supposed to be there. It’s July and the grass is still very green because we have had a very wet summer.

So… yesterday around 4pm I get a phone call from a number I don’t know. I don’t answer it. A couple of minutes later I check my voicemail. Phil and Scottie are in my neighborhood and coming to see if we’re home! It was fun to catch up with my favorite Romanian missionaries! Brady and Caleb both live in the U.S. now. Elliott got to see them briefly before he headed to his golf evaluation. 

Elliott is joining the golf team at school. They played 9 holes last night with the coaches watching. Golf is going to be so different from baseball. We probably won’t ever see him play! Baseball families become close knit from spending many days a week together at the ballpark. 

This week at work I have been getting supplies for kids camp and getting everything ready for Promotion Sunday at church (when the elementary kids move to their next classroom). There really isn’t down time in Kids Ministry-except right after VBS when we are exhausted!

This rattlesnake was found/killed at Clay’s work. Ick! I would have peed my pants.

July 7

​Joe, Nikole, Nora, and Josie are in town. We finally got to meet Josie. She is so sweet and snuggly and chatty! Bob’s family couldn’t come because they have a stomach bug.

July 6

​150 cards signed, folded, and sealed for VBS volunteers. I worked from home, mostly, because the air conditioning in our wing of the church went out this weekend and it was too hot in our resource room. 

July 5

Lucy, Clay, and I had lunch at Goodfellas pizza.

Kat and Drew ate dinner with us and then celebrated the Fourth of July with his sister.​ They snacked on watermelon while waiting for the ribs to cook.

Clay lit fireworks for me and Lucy last night. Our neighborhood was going crazy with fireworks last night. Gus would NOT have liked it. 

Elliott spent the Fourth of July with Bryson and his family.
