October 21

We had a nice afternoon celebrating Old Mamaw’s 91st birthday.

Clay had another busy weekend getting the tree stump cleared out of the ivy area and adding more landscaping stone to the existing wall.

Lucy and I made candy corn cupcakes

We like to eat at a local deli that offers free kids meals. Now that Kat is 13, she has to order off the adult menu. Her spud just got a whole lot bigger! It is one of the first times she wasn’t able to eat her entire meal. Ha!

Every year Elliott wants to decorate for Halloween (think lights in bushes, scary things, inflatables in the yard, etc) because we have a neighbor that goes all out. I bought some Halloween decorations at a yard sale. Wonder if this will quiet the boy!?! Yeah, I don’t think it is what he had in mind either.

While Kat, Elliott, Lucy, and I were at church, Clay was at Julia’s volleyball game. They lost, but they scored double digits both sets. Clay said Julia has improved a lot and is now one of the best players on her team. She scored several points.

Happy Birthday Old Mamaw!!!

The rock was added to the stairs. Now we need to replant ivy to the right of the stairs.

This little lady was a huge help to my crazy Tuesday. I started her out making French toast. She continued on by herself and made us dinner!

I put over 150 miles on my van yesterday and we never left the city! The good news is that everyone arrived to their respective activities on time. I even managed to schedule a couple of dr appointments, sign Julia up for recreational volleyball, run to the library, and print out pictures for a class project Lucy has. I slept great last night!

October 15

Lucy’s Flying Creatures class played a review game yesterday.

Also, it was Pajama Day at co-op.

I gave my Anatomy class a pop quiz. Most of them did fairly well. I like to keep them on their toes. I think it is good for them to take a test in a classroom environment, under some pressure. PS-Elliott had one of the best scores. 😁

After their quiz, we exercised to a 1970s Jane Fonda workout because we’ve been learning about the Muscular System. There was a lot of moaning and groaning, but also a lot of giggles and laughter.

After co-op, Elliott had jiu jitsu and then wrestling. Julia had to be picked up from volleyball and then we had to run to the store to buy supplies for a science project. We got home around 8:30pm and had dinner. Crockpot dinner for the win! Then Julia handed me her dirty PE uniform to be washed and Kat handed me her math papers that had to be graded before today. What!?! Don’t these people know I am tired and want sleep!?! Crockpot meals and carpooling are a busy mom’s friends.

Clay went to Lowe’s and bought pea gravel to add to the side yard steps and then he loaded up all the old timber to haul off.

And now it’s Tuesday, which is my busiest day of the week. This time I had to write it all down on paper so I can keep track of everything. Clay told me that I had an opening from 10:30am-2:30pm. I told him that an hour of that will be driving home from dropping Kat off at school and driving Lucy to gymnastics. The rest is when I do schoolwork with Elliott and Lucy. Every minute of my day is choreographed. If something runs behind the whole day is a mess! Apparently I enjoy a challenge!?!

October 14

A week’s worth of groceries. I hate meal planning, grocery shopping, putting away groceries, and cooking. Unfortunately, I love to eat.

Clay (and Elliott for about an hour and a half) made a lot of progress yesterday replacing the timbers in our side yard steps.

October 13

Clay and I got to enjoy a day in Lexington with Elliott. Our birthday gift to him was tickets to a UK football game.

First stop: KSBar for lunch

We walked around campus. It has changed so much since Clay and I went there. It's bittersweet to be there. It also makes you feel really old to think that in less than four years, Julia will be in college. What!?!

Nutter Field House had bouncies for the kids. We were one of the first to arrive, so Elliott got to enjoy them repeatedly.

We got to see the Catwalk- where the players come through on their way to the locker rooms. Elliott got to give alot of high-fives.

We met up with Dale, Greg, Natalie, Remi, and Parker for a little tailgating.

The Cats won 24-20. Elliott had a smile on his face most of the game. He's a neat kid. He is so laid back when he doesn't have to deal with his sisters.

We got home around 1am. Yikes! The boys are still in bed. Me? My body doesn't let me sleep in anymore. Boo!

Happy Anniversary Nonna and a Grandpa Carroll!

Kat and Elliott had their well-child appointments today. Kat is 5’ 3 1/2” (75th %) and Elliott is 4’ 4” (16th %).
