November 10

Update: Click here to see pictures of Dakota Fanning's little sister. Does she look like Kat or what!?!

Nothing exciting to share today. After church yesterday we went out for lunch at a sit down restaurant. Each time we do this we ask ourselves "Why? Why do we bother taking them out to eat?". After lunch yesterday, Daddy declared "I am not taking these freakin' rascals out to eat for a long time!". Kat then fell asleep on the short drive home and wouldn't nap the rest of the day... so she was cranky last night (which made Mommy & Daddy cranky last night).

Daddy put the fence back up yesterday... we're just waiting for the grass to grow. Does anyone know if it will grow now or will it wait until Spring?

No plans for today other than laundry and staying at home so the girls can hopefully get some rest.

November 9

Yesterday morning Mommy, Daddy, & Julia (Kat was still at Mamaw and Bapaw's house) went out for breakfast. Daddy spent the rest of the day doing home improvement stuff (some at our house, but mostly at Bob & Jessica's new house). Mommy and Julia went to the Fancy Nancy party at the library and had a lot of fun. After that we picked Kat up from Mamaw's and went over to see Bob & Jessica's new house (it's going to be really cute).

Playing Fancy Nancy Says

Making a fancy pencil

Abby from church was also there!

She also got to make a tiara

At Bob & Jessica's house, Julia got to write on the walls (they're going to be painted soon) with her Fancy Nancy pencil

Playing in the closet (also at Bob & Jessica's)

Kat poopoo'd in the potty tonight so she got to wear underpants!

November 8

Daddy had yesterday off work so that he could go to Mamaw's school and talk to her 5th grade students about his job (for career week). Mommy, the girls, & Anna went to the mall. The girls played on the pirate ship for awhile and we did a little shopping. Kat spent the night with Mamaw & Bapaw last night. Mommy & Julia went to see Madagascar 2 at the movies and had a lot of fun together. Daddy wasn't feeling good, so he stayed at home to rest.

It is exactly 1 week after Halloween and VonMaur already had all it's Christmas decorations out! Soon they'll have them out before Halloween!

The Disney Store had their dresses 75% off so we got got Ariel and Belle for $10 apiece!

Kat's name is finally on the wall too

November 7

Yesterday was another productive day. Mommy got caught up laundry, cleaned the house, and did some yard work. We played outside after nap and took advantage of another beautiful Fall day.

Mommy has finally figured out a way to keep Kat full. She begs for "nacky" (snacks) all day long. Now Mommy gives her an apple every so often to fill up on fiber... and as you can see, she demolishes them - seeds and all!

Trying to catch falling leaves

Mommy made Julia a tutu for a Fancy Nancy (a children's book) tea party we are going to on Saturday... and we used some remaining tulle to make Julia a bridal veil. She pranced all over the house in this.

Kat wears high heels better than Mommy does!

November 6

Yesterday we went to the park to play (we have 1 more day of warm weather before it gets cool again) and then to the library for story time. After dinner the girls had Mission Friends at church.

November 5

Well, our country has made history by electing Barrack Obama. The only positive thing to say is that alot of young people voted in this election (mostly for him unfortunately) and that some of the racial issues that have plagued this country have been/can continue to be laid to rest. We just pray that this country survives 4 years with him as our leader... and hopefully in the next election we can get someone elected with Christian values. For now, lets embrace our new President (in a choke hold!). Romans 13:1 & 2

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Carolyn, Christy, & Tracy and their kids. We are having beautiful weather this week - it got up to 77 degrees while we were at the zoo! Mommy had to pull some summer stuff back out for the girls.

Potty training update: Kat is doing great with peeing on the potty! As long as we take her every hour and half to 2 hours she is staying dry, for the most part. She even occasionally will tell us if she needs to go. Pooping is another story. Until she starts doing that regularly, she is staying in diapers!

November 4

Update:

Check out this picture of Daddy that his boss e-mailed to Mommy. Guess he's coming home from work with a new hairdo (hopefully the mohawk will be gone before he gets home)!

Original Post:

Remember to vote
(for McCain)!

Sometimes it feels like if you take a day or two off from chores, things just pile up on you and it's overwhelming!
Anyone else ever have that feeling!?! This was how Mommy was feeling yesterday.

Yesterday Mommy & the girls ran errands all morning... and we mean ALL morning:
  • we went to Mamaw & Papaw G's to pick something up
  • then to Jill's to drop something off
  • then to the hardware store to buy grass seed and bales of straw (and yes, there is a difference between straw and hay, and no Mommy doesn't know what it is, but they look at you like you are nuts when you ask for bales of hay)
  • then to drop off a movie rental
  • then to the bank
  • then to the Pediatrician's office (Kat has a sinus infection)
  • then to Walgreens to drop off the prescription for her antibiotic
  • then to the auto repair place to get our tire fixed (had a slow leak - caused by a nail!)
  • then to the dry cleaners
  • then to McDonald's
  • then back to Walgreens to pick up the prescription!
Thank goodness gas is only $2.10 a gallon and the girls were real troopers through all of it.

Our newly seeded backyard

This morning we are getting ready to run to the poll to vote. Mommy was thinking about the last Presidential election. It was much easier to vote because she didn't have two little helpers going along - they weren't born yet!

November 3

Between all the wedding festivities and the time change, the girls were off schedule and out of sorts yesterday. We played outside and enjoyed the nice weather. Mommy took the girls for a walk while Daddy worked on the backyard. We went out for dinner last night and then had the girls in bed at 7pm. Kat was up at 5:30 this morning (little ones don't understand the concept of time change/extra hour of sleep unfortunately), but she laid in bed with Mommy and fell back asleep for another hour.

While we were on a walk, Daddy came up with a contraption/plow to even out the dirt in the backyard. It's finally ready for grass seed!

November 2

Congratulations Travis & Natalie!

Yesterday was Natalie (Mommy's cousin) & Travis's wedding. Julia & Kat were flower girls and they did great! Mommy was anxious about how Kat would do. This was Julia's 3rd time being a flower girl and she's old enough to do fine, but Kat has never been in a wedding and she's 2 (enough said). The wedding was really nice. Julia didn't take a nap yesterday so she went to bed early last night. Kat stayed at the reception with Mommy (the reception was in the hotel) and had a great time dancing with Grandma Lulu and Grandpa Tim. And Kat and Mommy discovered heaven on earth - a chocolate fountain with strawberries, marshmallows, etc to dip... yum! This morning we had breakfast with the family and then headed home.

Cousin Lindsay styling Julia's hair (that's her behind the cloud of hairspray)

Kat actually sat still for this, getting pictures taken, and during the ceremony (and no, we didn't give her Benadryl!

The final touch... a tiara (every princess has one!)

Ready to go to the church!

Waiting for the wedding to start

Kat was trying to climb out of Mommy's arms

Grandpa Tim, Grandma Lulu, & the girls

Kat sat still the whole time (Aunt Dale put candy corn in the bottom of their flower girl baskets, so she ate candy corn during the ceremony... but we had to dump out the petals because they forgot to drop them as they walked down the aisle)!

Here they are walking the aisle...

November 1

Grandpa Tim and Grandma Lulu got to town after the girls' naps yesterday. Mamaw and Bapaw came over for chili and then we headed out for treats!

This is how our trick-or-treating went: the girls would knock on the door and say "Trick-or-Treat" , usually before the person was even at the door. They would get their candy and say "thank you" and then Julia would usually look back at all of us waiting at the end of the driveway and announce what kind of candy she got, "Kit Kat" or "I got m&ms!"... it was cute and the neighbors seemed to enjoy them since we don't have many little ones in the neighborhood.

Little Dorothy is ready to get some candy!

"Trick-or-Treat!"

We finally get to eat the fruits of our labor!

Watching "The Wizard of Oz" before bedtime

The second video is about 30 minutes after Kat had some candy... she was on a sugar buzz!

Today we are heading to Natalie and Travis's wedding. Julia & Kat are flower girls - wish us luck!
