February 15

We went to a Valentine’s Day party/homeschool open gym yesterday afternoon.

I can’t handle how old he looks in the bottom picture!

Clay took Kat to tour UK today. So far, he has reported that Kat keeps saying that it’s a really big campus.

Elliott sent me this picture bright and early. They are at Discovery Cove today swimming with dolphins, etc. I am 100% jealous!

Elliott, Mamaw, and Bapaw were in Seaworld today. These are the pictures he’s sent me so far.

My U.S. History class has learned about how Henry Ford created the assembly line, so we made cookies using the cottage industry technique and then using an assembly line to compare the difference.

These were the winners in the Valentine’s Day box competition.

Passing out Valentines

Lucy’s Think class had to build a structure that could withstand wind. It had to have a door and window.

They also had to remove the cup from this square (masking tape is hard to see) without touching it with a body part. Emma was blowing it somewhat successfully, when Lucy took her boot off and chucked it at the cup. Ha!

Elliott is off to Florida with Mamaw and Bapaw. They stopped at Buc-ees on their way.

Lucy and Ava had a tea party at Nadia’s house and then went to a dance with her theatre conservatory.

Last night Kat and I volunteered at Night to Shine. Keegan, a kid from co-op also volunteered. We hung out with Jenn. Todd, who is usually one of my buddies at the event, was home recovering from cataract surgery. After two years of doing drive-thru prom, everyone was so excited to be back in person.

February 10

I helped with setup for the Night to Shine prom yesterday afternoon. After two years of delivering goody bags and having a drive-thru event, I am so glad we get to be in person again!

Lucy asked Elliott to make her a blanket ladder at woodworking. She paid him for it. He did a great job!

The wind last night knocked our power out for about an hour. These three had fun outside until it got cold and dark.

February 9

Lucy and I were at a pet store yesterday afternoon. We were looking at the lizards when an employee told Lucy not move. Next thing we know, he took out a bearded dragon and put it on her shoulder! Of course, now she wants one.

Lucy spent HOURS making her Valentine box for co-op’s Valentine’s contest. I think her claw machine turned out pretty good.

February 7

My U.S. History class played a states and capitals review game. I called out a capital and they had to grab the post-it note with the correct state’s name.

Lucy’s Think class had to turn the towel over without taking their feet off it.

Elliott wrestled in the youth state wrestling meet yesterday. He pinned his first two opponents, got pinned by opponents three and four, and then beat his fifth opponent in points. He ended up 5th place. He wrestled hard and had a good season.
