January 12

Julia’s “Friends” party was fun. She has a nice group of friends. When Shannon dropped Bethany off, she noticed that she was dressed like Kat, so we took a picture.

Julia got fairy lights and photo clips for her birthday, so we put them up last night. It turned out so cute!

January 11

When you get schoolwork done by early afternoon, and it is 68 degrees outside in January, you head to the park! We took our bikes and rode about 3 hilly miles through the park.

I took Julia and her friend Makayla to the mall after school and then dropped them off at their school’s basketball game. I am thankful Julia has made such a sweet friend at school.

January 10

I spent some time yesterday morning prepping for Julia’s birthday party. She is having a “Friends” (tv show) themed party with her friends. Every episode title starts with “The one where...” I love how this pennant turned out. It was super easy and cheap too (less then $2 for poster board).

Lucy took the leftover poster board and made her own pennant.

Kat, Elliott, Lucy, and I were the only family at 4H club besides the two Moms (and their 12th graders) that run it. We had fun playing with Snap Circuits. This kit used solar power and wind power instead of batteries.

January 9

These are pictures Elliott’s coach’s wife took of the meet last weekend. When you see little muscly body in the singlet he seems so much older. Then you see that sweet little boy face.

January 7

Can you believe this stinker doesn’t want me to come eat lunch with her at school today. I even offered to come sing for her at exactly 11:05am. What a turd. Happy 15th birthday Julia!

She reminded me that one year from now she will be driving. 😳

January 6

Back to reality! 2 of the kids were thrilled to be back at co-op. The other? Not so much.

January 5

Meet day! This meet was huge-over 1,000 wrestlers. Elliott wrested in the Beginners division. We later found out that in TN, second year wrestlers can also wrestle in this division. Elliott did great! He was confident, worked hard, was assertive, and looked dominant in most of his matches. He won the first three matches by points, lost the fourth one barely (to a second year wrestler), and dominated the fifth opponent to come away with second place in his division. We were at the meet for ten hours, so when we left at 11pm EST, we grabbed dinner, and then ended up in a hotel because we were too tired to drive home.
