August 23

We went over to Uncle Joe and Aunt Nikole's house yesterday so Joe could look at our car (he's a mechanic). While we were there, Joe gave Kat and Elliott a ride in his "race car" .

Pushups - she's stronger than I am already!

Last night was our first night of AWANA at church. Julia is in 2nd grade Sparks, Kat is in 1st grade Sparks, and Elliott is in Honeybees again.

August 22

We had a big night at our house! Elliott got to see his first movie in the theater - Madagascar 3. Clay said he did great. He was mostly fixated on his snack (popcorn and m&ms), but that he sat still the whole time.

Lucy is now creeping/crawling! Won't be long before she's into everything!

August 21

Today would have been the girls first day of school if they were still in public school. Instead, we attended a Not-Back-to-School party at a park with other homeschooling families from church. We had beautiful weather and alot of fun!

Snow cones at 10:30 in the morning? Why not!?!
Lucy made a friend too

I am trying to keep Elliott occupied while we are doing school. He was supposed to string beads onto pipe cleaners and also put the pipe cleaners in the colander. Instead, he turned them into a hat and swords. Boys!

August 19

This morning we went to church, out for lunch, and then went to the cemetery to visit Mamaw G's grave. She died one year ago.

August 18

We woke up without any plans for the day, but ended up having a busy day! We went to the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve for Butterfly Day and Pet Day.

Lucy has learned to make this funny face and she knows she gets a reaction out of us.... too cute!

Do you see the pleading look in her eyes?

After hiking, being outside most of the morning, we went for $.30 ice cream cones in celebration of the Homemade Pie and Ice cream Kitchen's 30th Anniversary.

Mamaw and Bapaw invited us over for a yummy dinner.

August 17

Yesterday was Jonathan's last day coming to our house for the summer. We are going to miss him. Clay had the day off work, so we took all 5 kids to the State Fair.

Can you tell it was Elliott's nap time?

Kat chose a funnel cake for her special treat - and ate the whole thing by herself!

Elliott had some yummy homemade peach ice cream
