November 18

Aren't they cute? This looks alot more serene than it was... just imagine three small children banging on a piano. Be thankful I didn't videotape it!

November 17

Yesterday I worked at Julia's school helping clean up the Thanksgiving lunch.

Last night we all worked on making cupcakes to take to AWANA tonight.

November 16

Yesterday Kat, Elliott, and I ran errands. One of those errands was to the grocery store to buy a few essentials, like the ingredients for Peppermint Bark!

Isn't this a cool grocery cart?

November 15

On the drive home yesterday Elliott was screaming, so we made an unscheduled stop in Lexington. We drove to UK's campus, which we hadn't been to for a couple of years and walked around. The girls had fun playing in the leaves and rolling down the hills near the library. Then we ate dinner at Joe Bolognas- yum! Campus has changed alot! It was bittersweet to be there and none of our UK buddies are even around anymore. *Sigh* When did we get old? I am sure the students thought we were! They look SOOOO young!

Future wildcat?

Blanding 3 is the dorm Clay and I lived in 13 years ago when we met. Julia tried a couple of times to take our picture in front of it.

November 14

We got home tonight from a weekend visit with Ma-Maw and Pa-Paw C. We had a really nice time. We played games, went to the park to feed squirrels and play on the playground, and went to church this morning. The only bad thing was that Elliott apparently had a stomach bug, which we discovered as he threw up on their front porch when we first arrived Friday night! He seems to be better. Now we just pray Ma-Maw and Pa-Paw don't get sick!

4 out of 5 smiles isn't too bad!

November 13

Yesterday morning Kat heard Elliott in his crib. She asked if she could go in and see him. Awhile later, I checked on them and found her reading books to him.

November 12

I had my appt with the oral surgeon yesterday. No infections. Turns out the pain is from the tooth in front of the implant (screw). I apparently grind/clench my teeth at night (What? Me uptight and stressed?). Now that a tooth is missing, the tooth next to it is taking the brunt of the stress and is now loose. I am supposed to go to the dentist and get it looked at. Good times.

Got leaves? We don't anymore!

November 11

Fun at AWANA. Last night was Dot Your Leader Night. For every Bible verse the kids have said since August, they get to put a dot on us using Bingo markers.

Don't these look delicious!?! I actually made this. It's an oven-broiled 'Smore. I got the recipe from my friend Jenny.

'Smores:
Place graham crackers on cookie sheet. Add Hershey bar and place in oven under broiler until chocolate begins to melt. Remove from oven and add a marshmallow (halved). Broil until marshmallow is golden. Place 'Smore on plate and drizzle chocolate syrup on it. Yum!

November 10

Last night Clay took Julia to her first school skate party. They had a great time! After the first few laps, Julia was able to skate/shuffle along without assistance (although she fell quite a bit).

While they were at the skate party, I took Elliott and Kat for a "Flashlight walk"(thanks for the idea Kristi!). We played "I spy" while we walked and she would shine her light looking for the objects. We will definitely do that one again! (PS - Did I mention it's in the 70s here this week?)

It is "H" week at Kat's school. She is the "Child of the Day" today, which means we bring in the snack. The only snack I could think of that started with an H was a hat, so I decided we could make Pilgrim hats! Then I found out they were learning about Pilgrims this week at school, how perfect is that!?!

Here's the "recipe"

Kat working on her homework.

We were given a family assignment to draw our house and family. This was Kat's first time really trying to draw people. I think she did pretty darn good!

November 9

Yesterday Julia had the day off school. We were lazy all morning. In the afternoon we worked on the leaves in the yard. We got alot done (and have a long way to go!). Thanks Mamaw for taking care of Elliott and also helping to bag leaves! Have I ever mentioned that I have a wonderful Mother-in-Law? Wonder if she'll buy me a dog just for saying that? :P

My implant (the screw they put in my jaw) from surgery almost a month ago has been bothering me for 3 days now. I had to start taking the prescription Motrin for the pain. I have an appointment Thursday to have it checked out. Hopefully it's not a big deal, but I'd like for the pain to go away!!!

Fun with bubble wrap!
