We tried a new (to us) Mexican Restaurant. The waitress warned Clay that his meal would be spicy. She wasn’t lying! Do you see the sweat glistening on his forehead?

A friend just sent me some pictures she took of Field Day (back in May). You know, back in the early part of summer when we had months of freedom ahead of us. One month from today is the first day of school! Aaaaahhhh!

We picked Kat and Anthony up from the movies and took these four to get ice cream. Julia had a spell this afternoon where she was hurting, but once the ibuprofen and ice kicked in, she was okay.

24 hours later and she is still hanging in there. Ice cream for lunch? Why not!?! We woke up every three hours throughout the night to apply ice and take pain meds.

Julia got her wisdom teeth extracted this morning. She did really well! She didn’t have any nausea and slept most of the morning until around 1 or 2pm. We kept this “jaw bra” ice pack on her cheeks a majority of the day to help with swelling.
We did have a storm blow through that knocked out our power for over 3 hours. That added some excitement to our afternoon/evening. Otherwise, Julia spent most of the day on the couch and I spent most of the day playing nurse.

Elliott has been snotty since last weekend (as in June 24th). He improved during VBS, but then he fell asleep on the couch a couple of times yesterday and had a low-grade fever at bedtime. I gave him an at-home Covid test this morning and it was negative. The doctor ran a strep test. Negative. She also gave him a Covid test. Negative. Ears were clear. Lungs sounded good. Official diagnosis? A bad cold. On the upside, I haven’t taken him for a sick visit since Jan 2020 when he had the flu and strep. Too bad we killed the 2 1/2 year streak for a dang cold.

Poor Gus. I gave him medicine last night to calm his nerves while neighbors were shooting off fireworks and he was loopy all day today.
Clay and the kids insisted I watch Stranger Things with them. They have all seen it. I don’t like scary things. However, I do like that all six of us are hanging out together.
Clay and Elliott decided they wanted fireworks for tonight.
Braxton and Kat’s boyfriend, Anthony, joined us.

Look who is home!!! He arrived around 3:30am after a two hour delay at the Denver airport. I have been driving Clay’s car for most of the two weeks he was gone because my van has hesitated to start. I had the battery tested at Autozone and it was bad. Clay said he would replace it, so he spent time his first day home replacing it.
We went to a Fourth of July party at the gym last night.

This was a super competitive game of Uno. I love that Elliott is comfortable joining a group of adults playing a game.

I was just trying to get a picture of these two together…

Julia and Raymond went to a park on Wednesday. I forgot to post these pictures. They also visited with Mamaw and Old Mamaw. Good kids.

Ava fixed Lucy’s hair yesterday and then sent me this picture.

Yesterday was a day for getting things done. Grass cut (Elliott) and watered (Me)? Check. Physical therapy? Check. Library to return books? Check. Groceries? Check. Pharmacy? Check. Pick Kat up from work? Check. Pick up McDonalds for dinner because I was tired? Check. I never want to cook on the night I have just gone to the grocery store!

July 1
One of our co-op families hosted a swim party for the 5th-12th grade families. Elliott and Lucy had fun and were completely exhausted when we got home.
