July 7

Saturday morning was the lake neighborhood's golf cart parade and flag pole ceremony.

Do they look like the Beverly Hillbillies or what!?!

 "4 generations celebrating the Fourth"

At the flag ceremony, the kids led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

They honored the Vets (Papaw G served in the Navy at the end of WW II)

Everyone got pickles and ice cream...

After naps, we went on the boat for a few hours to fish.

My handsome fishing pole model (Boy needs to get some sun on those legs)

The fish weren't biting, so the kids had more fun playing with the minnows.

 Bapaw got a HUGE fish!

July 6

Kat baits her own hook. This girl LOVES to fish- almost as much as she loves to eat fish.

July 5

We spent our 4 of July weekend at the lake with Mamaw, Bapaw, and Papaw G. It rained for the first half of the day, but once the rain stopped, we had great weather - although it was only in the low 70s for the 4th of July.

Gus loved the water this year.

Some of us like our marshmallows well done.

 Catching lightning bugs

Who needs fireworks on the 4th when you have rainbows?

July 4

Happy Fourth of July!

Who needs a swimming pool this summer with all the rain/puddles!?!

Notice the big kids hiding under the table.

July 3

Clay playing with one of his toys (a helicopter). I am married to Peter Pan! The boy is never going to grow up! :P

Gus Gus

The kids completed the library's summer reading program today (10 books per kid). It's taking longer to complete now that the big girls read chapter books!

Ride Kat, ride!

July 2

Kat helped me in Sunday school keep the two year-olds occupied while I manned the door for parent pickup.

We had a play date yesterday with co-op friends. Elliott was seriously outnumbered!

July 1

I was in bed reading to Lucy and somehow got wedged out. They do love their little sister.

We had a nice day yesterday (other than Lucy being whiny - hoping the 4th molar comes in ASAP). God is doing some pretty cool things in our church lately. It's exciting! After church, Julia, Kat, and I went on a 3 mile bike ride. Kat has come a long way in 1 week! Then last night I took Julia, Kat, and Elliott to see Monsters University, while Clay and Lucy hung out. It's a cute movie. I haven't seen Monsters, Inc, but I still liked it.

PS - Where the heck did June go!?!
