September 10

Clay woke up with a 101 temp this morning, so he stayed at home and rested all day. The girls are at the lake with Mamaw and Bapaw, so Elliott and I made plans with Peggy to go to a craft fair and to an orchard to pick apples. We had beautiful weather.

September 9

Clay came home from work today feeling bad (achy and a slight fever). We were supposed to be heading to the lake with Mamaw and Bapaw. Instead, Clay, Elliott, and I are staying home and we're sending the girls with Mamaw and Bapaw.

This morning Elliott and I went over to Matthew and Jonathan's house to play.

September 8

Clay was able to remove all the mold in the bathroom. It was only on the surface. That is the good news. The bad news is that we now have a hole in our ceiling, so we're going to see if we can pay someone to come out and repair that (since it's a textured ceiling and neither of us know how to do that).

Elliott and I took advantage of the free breakfast at Chick-Fil-A this morning

September 7

Update: Apparently I won't be painting this room for awhile. We discovered some black mold in the ceiling and behind the toilet in the drywall, so Clay has to investigate (tear out some drywall) to determine if it's in the walls or just on the surface. Crap!

The wallpaper in our hall bathroom has been peeling for over 2 years. I finally had enough and took it all off yesterday. My plan is to prime and paint it Friday while Elliott is at Tracy's house. I am thinking a warm orange/rust color... what do you think? It definitely needs color!

Labor Day Picnic

Last night Elliott wanted to color while the girls were doing homework. I had to get a picture of all three sitting still (it didn't last long).

September 5

Elliott started up with a fever again last night, so this morning I took him to the doctor. He has a sinus infection. He's already had a dose of the antibiotic, so he should be good as new in no time.

September 4

Hark! What is that outside!?! Is it comfortable temperatures in September!?! We took advantage of the beautiful weather (75 degrees) and played outside, went for a walk, and got some yard work done.

Elliott has had a cough/wheezing for 2 days now (due to seasonal allergies?). The breathing treatments seem to be helping. Poor little guy.

Clay took the training wheels off Kat's bike today.

It's safe to say that Clay is the Clark Griswold of tree trimmers.

September 3

It was just too hot (100+ degrees) to be outside yesterday, so we had a lazy day inside instead. Last night Mamaw Pat came over to watch a movie with us.

September 2

Busy day! Oh, and ridiculously hot. How hot? So hot that the schools wouldn't allow the kids to play outside. So hot that the high school football games had to be post-poned until after 8pm because the heat index was over 100! Yuck!

After dropping Elliott off at Tracy's house for the day (we swap kids once a week), I headed to a HUGE consignment sale and bought some clothes for the kids and a few baby items. I spent 2 1/2 hours shopping! It was nice to be able to do that without any little rugrats tagging along. Then I got the oil changed on the van (also much easier without any kids). I know, I live on the wild side. No kids and I choose to run errands!

I headed to the girls' school for Julia's Watermelon Day next. Well, that was my plan. Apparently I had the time wrong and totally missed out on her fun day. They were done by the time I arrived at the school. Thankfully she wasn't too upset about it. So instead I joined Kat's class for Ice Cream Day.

Tonight we had a movie night watching "Rio". Even Elliott sat still for close to an hour! It was fun to finally be able to all enjoy a movie together! Elliott's attention span has really grown in the past couple of weeks.

Kat's Teacher's Aid took these pictures today. I either have fat rolls on my neck or wrinkles. Joy!

I also did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned the house, and met with a notary (and Clay) to sign all our home refinance papers. See? It was a busy day!

September 1

Someone needs to tell Mother Nature that it's September now and she can turn the furnace off! It's 97+ degrees outside today. Looking forward to Fall...

After dropping the girls off at school, I had Mom's Bible Study at church. Tonight we are going to the girls' Open House at school.

We bought the baby a new bouncer. Our other one was worn out after 3+ kids.
