November 10

Last night Clay took Julia to her first school skate party. They had a great time! After the first few laps, Julia was able to skate/shuffle along without assistance (although she fell quite a bit).

While they were at the skate party, I took Elliott and Kat for a "Flashlight walk"(thanks for the idea Kristi!). We played "I spy" while we walked and she would shine her light looking for the objects. We will definitely do that one again! (PS - Did I mention it's in the 70s here this week?)

It is "H" week at Kat's school. She is the "Child of the Day" today, which means we bring in the snack. The only snack I could think of that started with an H was a hat, so I decided we could make Pilgrim hats! Then I found out they were learning about Pilgrims this week at school, how perfect is that!?!

Here's the "recipe"

Kat working on her homework.

We were given a family assignment to draw our house and family. This was Kat's first time really trying to draw people. I think she did pretty darn good!

November 9

Yesterday Julia had the day off school. We were lazy all morning. In the afternoon we worked on the leaves in the yard. We got alot done (and have a long way to go!). Thanks Mamaw for taking care of Elliott and also helping to bag leaves! Have I ever mentioned that I have a wonderful Mother-in-Law? Wonder if she'll buy me a dog just for saying that? :P

My implant (the screw they put in my jaw) from surgery almost a month ago has been bothering me for 3 days now. I had to start taking the prescription Motrin for the pain. I have an appointment Thursday to have it checked out. Hopefully it's not a big deal, but I'd like for the pain to go away!!!

November 8

The time change is overrated when you have small children who don't know how to sleep in.

Camryn came home with us after church and played with the girls for a few hours. They had a great time.

Drumroll please.................................................................... Clay finished the deck (with a migraine, I might add)!!!! He did a great job! We will stain it in the Spring. But he can mark this project off his list and enjoy some free time now.

The pictures aren't the best quality. My camera was flaking out (as usual) and Clay was still putting on the finishing touches. I just wanted to get a couple of pictures before it got too dark outside.

November 7

Yesterday Clay was busy working on the deck, so I took the kids to the Science Museum.

The girls made a beeline for the "Pooping Machine" as soon as we got to the museum.

November 6

One year ago Elliott got a skull fracture/brain bleed. Today he is a healthy, happy little guy. God is good!

Yesterday after dropping Julia off at school, Kat, Elliott, and I babysat for a few hours. I had six kids under the age of 5. It actually went better than you are thinking (and I was expecting).

LtoR: Miles (3 1/2), Julia (almost 2), Kat (4), Henry (6 months), Annabel (almost 5), and Elliott (1). Aren't they cute?

November 4

After dropping both girls off at school yesterday, Elliott and I ran errands all morning.

We made sure the little dude had some fun too.

Worn out

Kat and I made owl cookies for her school tomorrow. I got the idea from here.

A couple of weeks ago she taught herself how to snap her fingers and now this...

Little Orphan Elliott

Poor Elliott. Living in the Ohio Valley isn't good for seasonal allergies...

November 2

Julia spent the night at Bapaw and Mamaw's house last night (no school today because it's Election Day). Kat really thrives on the attention she gets when Julia is not around. It was a nice day.

Kat had a baby in her belly that she kept pushing out.

Thankfully there were no lines this morning when we went to vote, since I had the two little rugrats with me. They did great!

Tracy, Jonathan, and Matthew came over this morning for a play date. It almost felt like old times. I didn't have to get the kids up and off to school and we got to see friends. Hurray!

May the force be with you...

November 1

Clay and I started dating 13 years ago today. Three kids, umpteen moves, a few jobs, and lots of fun (and some not-so-fun times) later... here we are! Clay, aren't you glad I sent you that super slick e-mail!?!

Last night we took the rugrats trick-or-treating. Uncle Bob, Aunt Jessica, Bapaw, and Mamaw came along too.
