Elliott and Lucy sat together in study hall today. They do like each other!

September 8

Last night at church was a celebration of the all the campuses together. Lucy and I worked in the 1 year-old room. 

September 7

Clay, Elliott, and I went to the UK vs Ole Miss game yesterday. The Cats lost, but the game was more exciting than the week before. Before the game, Ole Miss’s crowd started a chant in the middle of the band playing My Old Kentucky Home. That fired up Big Blue Nation! 

September 6

We went to dinner with Mamaw, Bapaw, and Bob’s crew to celebrate Bob, Elliott, and my birthdays. Caleb sure is fun!

Afterwards we went to church so I could do Sunday morning setup (this has to be done Friday evening or Saturday). Clay and Elliott worked out in the church/school’s gym while Lucy helped me get the rooms ready.
 

September 5

Elliott had his first fall ball game last night. He started at third base, but caught the last couple of innings. He had a solid hit to the outfield, got hit by a pitch, and got walked multiple times. His team won 24-0. 

September 4

I cleared this basement closet of old (!!!) curriculum and converted it to a VBS closet.

I hauled away 4 (!) commercial size garbage bags of games (missing pieces), broken toys, and other crap that was shoved into these cabinets in our Kids Worship Room.

I got my exercise in yesterday just from cleaning/organizing and then Wednesday night nursery.

While Lucy was at CrossFit, Elliott was at FCA.

September 3

We had rain for the first time in a LONG time, which reminded me that I had ordered an umbrella for Kat. When I texted her to see if she ever received the umbrella I got this photo. She got caught out in the rain. Her friend brought her his rain coat. She decided that she will keep the umbrella in her backpack from now on. Duh! Roommate update: Kat’s friend is going to move in with her. The friend’s current roommate is a furry (identifies as an animal). 

September 2

 I ordered from Universal Yums recently. It’s a monthly subscription of snacks from a country. This month our snacks were Korean. The kids and I had fun sampling the different snacks.

 

September 1

After walking for 45 minutes with my neighbor, Clay wanted me to lift weights with him at the gym. We did a couple of hours of yard work after that! I may not be able to move tomorrow. Lucy worked on English homework and Elliott had his last day of lifeguarding for the summer.

 

August 31

Elliott went to jiu jitsu open gym with Clay. He was able to take the adults down to the mat, but then they submitted him quickly because he has forgotten a lot of his jiu jitsu. He had fun and he made Clay’s heart happy to have him back in the gym.

After church I spent the afternoon and evening with my friend Aimee from college. We hadn’t seen each other in two years!
