Happy Birthday Old Mamaw!

We found battery-operated tea lights for Lucy’s haunted castle.

For Elliott’s 10th birthday in 2019, Mamaw and Bapaw got him two tickets for the Dude Perfect Tour. Then Covid…. Based on Clay and Elliott’s experience, it was worth the wait. Clay said everybody would have fun at that show.

Meanwhile, I hosted the ladies from my Sunday School class for a Hallmark Christmas movie. Christmas in October. Why not!?!

Kat started feeling bad at bedtime last night. It’s her turn for the 100 degree fever. So far that is her only symptom.

October 15

Elliott working on another Power Point Presentation.

Clay went back to work yesterday. Elliott had a temperature of 99.4 when he woke up. It was back to normal in the afternoon. Now if we can just keep everyone else healthy, we will continue on with our busy weekend plans!

Kat had another job interview yesterday, this time with McAlisters Deli. She went into the interview thinking she would prefer DQ. When she came out of the interview, she changed her mind. She liked the manager at McAlisters more, the pay is better, and it’s a brand new restaurant, so it’s nice and clean. She got hired on the spot-again!

Lucy made a haunted castle.

Clay finally went through a bag of old school papers, etc that Mamaw had given him months ago. The teens really enjoyed some of his papers/art.

Kat had a job interview yesterday with Dairy Queen and was offered the job!

Clay felt good enough yesterday afternoon to cut the grass. Elliott ran a 100.4 most of the day. We all stayed home from church just to be safe.

Happy 11th birthday to Gus!!!

Clay stayed home from work yesterday because of congestion and a low-grade fever. He took a home covid test and it was negative. He’s home today too just as a precaution, but he’s feeling better.

However, today Elliott woke up with a low-grade fever and congestion. He and Kat were supposed to have their annual physicals this morning, but he stayed home. The doctor told us their is some sort of virus going around that lasts about 24 hours. That seems to be what they have.

October 12

Clay and Julia toured UK yesterday. They were gone all day to get the general info/tour, have lunch with the Society of Women Engineers, and then tour the College of Engineering. Julia seemed to really like UK’s campus, was excited to learn more about the aerospace engineering dept and co-ops, and she liked the dorms.

This picture? It’s the only picture the two took (besides one that Julia took of a building named after somebody with the last name Raymond. This picture is the computer lab where Clay got an email from a socially backwards loudmouth that said she liked him (this was way before cell phones and texting).

Happy Anniversary Nonna and Grandpa Carroll!

Anatomy class labeled their bones and then played a game of Skeletal Simon Says

It was Pajama Day at co-op.

After lunch, the kids always have fun playing Sharks & Minnows. Elliott and Lucy are somewhere in the mix.

Elliott had jiu jitsu at 5…

And wrestling conditioning at 6.

He has two more cross country practices and one more meet. Then we switch gears to jiu jitsu and wrestling.

October 10

Elliott had a cross country meet yesterday- The Haunted Woods Classic. He ran a 4K in 23 minutes. He appears to slow down a little more each meet. Ha!

After the meet, Clay and Elliott headed to Lexington for the UK vs LSU football game.

They tried to grab lunch at a couple of places in Lexington, but the wait was hours long. Instead, they rented an electric scooter and drove until they found a place that wasn’t too crowded.

Elliott is a Ho Virgin no more! When you eat at the Tolly Ho for the first time, they holler “Ho Virgin” if you tell them it’s your first time. Clay was nice and didn’t bother telling the employees. I probably wouldn’t have been so nice.

He got to fist bump the Wildcat

UK beat LSU 42-21! UK is 6-0 for the first time since the 1950s! Clay said the stadium was so loud and it was shaking from everyone jumping. The boys  didn’t get home until after 1:30am.

October 9

When Elliott, Lucy, and I got home from the zoo, Clay and Joe were involved in a big project of adding a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and transmission coolant to Clay’s car. They worked for hours and finished up after 11pm. We are thankful for a brother (in-law) who knows what he is doing with cars! Now Clay can pull a trailer/boat with his car.

October 8

We met Clara, her Mom, and Grandma at the zoo for trick-or-treating.

Elliott met another guy who was abducted by an alien.

This storyteller was really good at captivating the kids with the story of the headless horseman.

Julia and Raymond were both inducted into the National Honor Society and Beta Club at school today. Parents and grandparents could tune in virtually for the program.
