It's a BOY!!!

Our snake, that is. After church yesterday, Clay and Julia headed to the reptile expo and came home with a spider morph ball python. Here's his first photo... look at Julia's smile! She'd better grow up to be a Herpatologist/Biologist (in other words, I'd better get something in return for allowing a snake in the house!).

Introducing Spidey, the 8 month old ball python

Then last night we went back to church for the combined campus celebration (there are 7 locations of our church, and 4 times a year everyone gets together for worship).

During the service they invited all the children that have been adopted to come on stage to celebrate all the adoptions. Our friends Russ and Carolyn are in the back on the right with their little girl Samantha (Russ is holding her in the red dress)

After church they continued the celebration outside with bouncies and ice cream

Kat didn't do this for long. She said, "it's too crazy in here."

Funny Kat Story
: Yesterday morning when I dropped Kat off in her Sunday School room at church, she walked into the room, held her finger out to her teacher and proudly declared, "I have a boogar". Her teacher politely said "thank you" and took her to get a tissue to wipe it off.

Yesterday morning a small thunderstorm had Julia in our room at 7am. By 8am she was begging to go outside and ride her bike. Clay took the girls to the zoo while I had a luncheon at church. After naps we went over to Scott and Lana's to hang out.

Apparently Kat has a new fake smile for pictures

Julia found a snake to touch - no surprises there!

Congratulations Joe!!!
Happy Birthday Tracy!!!

Yesterday I ironed, cleaned the house, and did laundry. Meanwhile, the girls were extremely fussy and misbehaving to get my attention. I laid them down early for naps, and they both slept - thank goodness! Last night we went over to Joe and Tracy's house to celebrate Joe's graduation from his Masters Degree program and Tracy's birthday.

Kat had her Ms Scottie - life is good

Yesterday morning we met Jill, Brody, and Mollie at the mall to play on the pirate ship and then we all went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Kat and Julia were both pretty cranky last night - Julia especially. Clay had to work late again- he got home at 7pm. The girls surprised him with a new book (it's a new board book version of one of his childhood favorites). It's actually a gift for the new baby from the girls, but the girls wrapped it to surprise their Daddy.

I love her smile in this one

Yesterday we took Anna and Jonathan with us to story time at the library. After naps, Kat helped me make a cake and then after dinner the girls and I went for a walk and played outside while Clay went for a run.

Kat and Anna making their craft- someone asked me if all four kids were mine (and also looked at my pregnant belly)... ha! I bet they think I don't know what birth control is!

Yesterday we went to the grocery store, played outside with the neighbors, and after dinner we met Clay at the park and played for awhile. Julia had a rough morning (not obeying, being defiant, etc.). She must have been tired, because she took a long nap and was back to herself after that.

These pictures are from Monday night. We went over to visit with Mamaw and Papaw C before they headed back home.

Yesterday we went to the zoo. I thought there might not be many field trips since schools around here are testing, and I was right. The weather was also great - mid 60's to low 70s. The girls were happy and did a good job of following directions all morning! In fact, Kat was pleasant all day until right before bedtime.

Funny Julia Story: At the zoo, a woman was holding a new baby. Julia asked her if she could "pet the baby".

Last night after dinner we took the girls outside to teach them how to ride their bikes. Julia got a big girl bike (with training wheels) for her birthday but won't get on it. Daddy helped her out, and by the end of the evening, she was a little too comfortable with it - she kept wanting to "race". I was trying to teach Kat how to pedal her tricycle. She is capable of doing it, she just doesn't want to (and still doesn't).

Here's the backstory to this video: Kat had been begging for a popsicle after dinner. In an attempt to get her to ride her tricycle, I told her she had to ride it up the court, around the circle, and back home. Well, she did it - her way (little stinker!).

Happy Mother's Day!

This morning we went to church and then to Mamaw and Bapaw's house for lunch.

See Bapaw!?! I warned you I'd post this!

The girls have a Mother's Day message to all their Grandmas, Great Grandmas, and Great Great Grandma:

Some funny new things Julia is saying:
  • The baby birds have "patched" (hatched)
  • Will you "inside this out for me?" (Julia wanting to have an outfit turned inside out for her)
