Lucy completed this page without any help. She's a rockstar student!

I had to order kindergarten curriculum for Lucy this week because she's completed all the preschool curriculum already (5 workbooks!). She always wants to do more work than I plan on doing with her and she always harasses me to get started with schoolwork in the morning (Let me eat my breakfast kid!). Elliott better work harder or he may get passed up!

Our 5th grade girls at church made vegetable soup, split up into three teams, and delivered it to the homebound (elderly who can't get out). We had a great time and these girls were so good at ministering to the elderly we visited. You could see the joy it brought to them (the homebound and the girls). What a blessing to see them minister to others and be a part of it.

The kids had fun at church on Sunday celebrating the Superbowl with a guest speaker, recreation time, worship, and donuts.

Our chem phys class is in the process of making soundproof boxes that we will complete and test next week.

 Chess Club is growing each week. The leadership team has ordered us three more chess sets. The experienced kids are doing a good job teaching the kids who have never played before.

Happy Birthday Peggy! We miss you like crazy!

 

We had a nice weekend. Mamaw, Bapaw, and Mamaw C came over for dinner Saturday night and showed us pictures from their trip to Hawaii.

 Clay and I had a date yesterday. We went shopping for a new winter coat for him (he was kinda dragged into Kohls kicking and screaming), ate lunch, and went to a movie.


Lucy went to a friend's birthday party yesterday afternoon.

Last night we watched some of the Superbowl with friends from church.

 I think Gus wants my attention.

Lucy beats me at this game almost every single time! 

We woke up this Saturday morning with absolutely nothing on the calendar. That hasn't happened in.... well, I honestly don't remember. I am hoping to stay in my pajamas for as long as possible (hopefully until tonight when I put on a clean pair to go to bed)!

Kat has been working on this paint-by-number kit for over a year. She's really done most of it this week. And.... I got a picture of her without her usual cheesy grin!

Shannon and I have the sweetest group of 5th grade girls on Wednesday nights at church.

We went to the dollar movies to see Trolls last night after we dropped Julia off at gymnastics. It was really cute.  

Clay has been in Texas the past couple of days enjoying 75 degree weather. He will be home later today. It was supposed to be in the 50s here yesterday, but the sun never really came out, so it felt cooler than that. 

Kat is training to run a 5K next month, so I took her for a 2 mile run. She ran, Elliott rode his bike, and I rode my bike while holding onto Gus's leash. I am sure we looked ridiculous. I totally negated that workout by eating a Big Mac for dinner. Doh!
