April 8

Happy Easter!

We left Grandpa and Lulu's last night and drove to Nonna's house (25 minute drive). We woke up and found our Easter baskets (the bunny hides them) and then headed to church.

Mamaw Pat made all three girls' dresses. They looked very pretty.

We had an Easter egg hunt at Nonna's house too. Kat was mad that Julia found an egg before she did. As you can see, it didn't go over well.

Julia spent a long time making a "Kitty Fun Zone" for Nonna's cats.

April 7

We got to Grandpa and Lulu's late last night, which makes 2 late nights in a row. Elliott traveled well until it was bedtime. He does not like being in the car when it's bedtime. Lucy traveled great!

He loved this!

Lucy handled all the noise, being passed around, etc by my extended noisy family like a trooper. Most babies would be overstimulated, but Lucy's so used to chaos at our house, that it didn't even phase her!

April 6

Yesterday I babysat for my friend Katrina's 7 month old named Ryan. Lets just say that it's a good thing I never had twins! Two babies (and the fact that Ryan cried if I didn't hold him- not even to sleep) required backup! I called Mamaw Pat for help, and being the good woman that she is, she bailed me out - again!

Last night we surprised the kids by taking them to the Ringling Brothers Circus. This was the nicest circus I had ever been to. Everything was clean, well done, and very entertaining. The only negative comment I have was that we didn't get home until 10:45pm on a school night (probably why the tickets were half price opening night)! I am going to have some cranky kids today!

Happy Birthday GG Pop!

Julia asked me to eat lunch with her at school yesterday. Can't pass up a chance to spend time with the girls when they actually want me around! Won't be long before they are embarrassed by me! :P

The Ringling Brothers Circus is in town, so we watched the "Elephant Parade" as the elephants walked downtown from their train to the arena. Elliott was more excited about the News helicopter flying overhead.

Last night was Pie Your Leader Night at AWANA. The kids got 1 pie for every 10 Bible verses they memorized. Clay took the majority of the pies!

April 4

Elliott enjoyed feeding the ducks

Our friend Tracy gave us this Jeep powerwheels. Her boys are too tall for it (not a problem for my shorty). Now I just need to teach Elliott how to steer. He goes full steam ahead until he runs into something!

April 3

Clay and I were up until nearly 1am to watch UK win the NCAA basketball tournament. So exciting! I plan to be in bed as early as possible tonight. I am pooped!

Elliott's scab came off in his bath last night, so he had to wear a Band-Aid to bed. Me thinks our Easter pictures are going to be lovely!

April 2

Yesterday was a fun day. After church we went to Pizza King for lunch. Then we came home and took naps (I got a nap finally!!!). Mamaw and Bapaw came over to dye eggs in the afternoon. For dinner I wanted to do something special since it was April Fool's Day. Next year I want to trick the kids, but it snuck up on me this year, so instead I found the Crazy Cafe idea on Pinterest.

This is what happens to your nose when you fall down the carpeted steps... rug burn - Ouch!

Mamaw made all three girls Easter dresses for church.

Here's the Crazy Cafe. Each of the letters corresponds to a menu item that only I know (A= spoon, B= napkin, C=toast, yadda yadda). Everybody fills in their menu and doesn't know what they will get. Clay ended up with a spoon and a napkin for his appetizer. Julia got a drink and an Easter egg, and Kat got a cookie and a drink. Lots of fun! I was relieved that Kat didn't end up with the spoon and napkin first... she wouldn't have been very happy! We will definitely do this one again!

April 1

Last night UK played Louisville in the Final Four game. We invited some friends over for the game. This game was a pretty big deal in this state. UK won! Looks like we'll be staying up late Monday night for the championship game! I was a freshmen at UK when they won in '96 and a Jr when they won in '98. The celebrating that goes on on campus is pretty wild! Glad to celebrate from the safety of my home now (more proof that I am getting old!).

Lucy didn't have a UK shirt, so I made her one.
