August 10

Yesterday was Kat's turn to have orientation at school. She also had her school picture made, which is why she is dressed up in the picture below. She was somewhat shy, but all the Kindergarteners were. They all stayed pretty close to their parents.

August 9

Yesterday was Julia's orientation at school. We got to meet her teacher, Ms Gagel, see her classmates, and get her school picture made. Since Grandpa and Lulu were in town, they got to meet the girls' teachers, see their school, and chase Elliott through the hallways while I got the paperwork done.

After we left the school, we headed over to Hubers to pick blackberries and eat lunch. Elliott never added any blackberries to his basket (he would eat any that we added to his, in addition to all the ones he picked and put directly into his mouth). By the time we left the field, his face was covered in blackberry juice.

August 8

Grandpa and Lulu arrived late yesterday afternoon for a visit.

August 7

Jessica's baby shower was yesterday afternoon. It was fun. The poopy diaper game seemed to go over well (melted chocolate bars in diapers). In just a couple of months we will get to meet our new baby niece, which is very exciting!

August 6

This morning we went to Home Depot for their Kids' Workshop. The girls made pencil boxes with Clay's help.


This afternoon Mamaw Pat hosted a baby shower at her house for Jessica. I will post those pictures tomorrow. I know this is driving you nuts Jessica! :P

August 5

This morning I got stuff ready for Jessica's baby shower and then the kids helped me clean house. Since I wasn't able to give them much of my attention today (and it was evident by Elliott's whining), I took the kids out for dinner, to a playground, and then to Art Sparks. Clay got the night off! Poor guy still hasn't recovered from the sinus/ear problems. They are getting better after his 3rd trip to a doctor/clinic in the last 10 days.

August 4

We met some friends at Kazoing this morning. The kids had a great time and were able to burn off lots of energy in the inflatables.

The girls have really been mean to each other lately - talking hateful and hitting each other. I am not sure if it's due to anxiety about school, being tired of each other, or something else, but they are taking naps today because they were so hateful yesterday. And the new rule is that for every hit/hateful comment, they have to go to bed 15 minutes earlier. I am curious to see if it helps.

August 3

Today we woke up with absolutely nothing on the agenda. It's been a while since that has happened. Other than washing the bed linens, I haven't done any chores (I am still in my pajamas!). The kids and I have played outside in the sandbox and baby pool, made cookies in the Easy Bake Oven, and watched a movie. I am not even cooking dinner tonight - we're having leftovers. I think I overdid it last week trying to get the inside and outside of the house ready for the bridal shower. I am still pooped. Today has been wonderful!

Kat was singing a song on the "stage". Elliott was dancing a jig (a naked one).

August 2

We met some friends at the mall for Club Mom. The entertainment was a man who juggles, does magic, and makes balloon critters.

August 1

Yesterday was Nikole's bridal shower. It seemed to go well. I think everyone had fun.
