October 9

Last night we went to a Halloween Parade.

Thursday night we made several Halloween crafts.

Making a CandleEyebra

Paper Bag Trees and Salt Dough Ghosts

I am going to brag on Kat for a minute. She is a really good big sister to Elliott. She shares her doggy and fruit snacks with him (without being told). That is HUGE!

The girls were watching Tom and Jerry together while I was cooking dinner. I ran to grab my camera and capture this rare moment of snuggling. Maybe they actually do miss each other now that they are apart so much!?!

Kat shared a muffin with Elliott. He made quite a mess!

October 8

Don't you just want to squeeze him!?! He just melts my heart. What is it it about a baby boy!?!

Yesterday Clay went to Kat's school for "Donuts with Daddy" (they learned the letter D this week).

October 5

Yesterday Julia had the day off for Fall Break at school and Clay took the day off work. While Elliott was still at the lake with Mamaw, we decided to explore the Falls of the Ohio (a large fossil bed) again. Three weeks ago when we went, it was HOT! Yesterday the temp was in the 50s, so it was pleasant.

Two discoveries: Left, a frog. Right, a pencil holder

Clay the stuntman

A week after he started walking, Elliott is getting around pretty good now!

October 4

Mamaw Pat took Elliott home with her from the girls soccer game to spend 2 nights at the lake with her, Bapaw, and Mamaw and Bapaw G. It's my first night away from him (actually 2 nights).

We took the girls camping at Mammoth Cave with some of our good friends. This was the girls' first time camping. We had a great time, despite the cool weather. Saturday was a nice 75 degrees, but Sunday morning it was 40 degrees when we woke up! Brrr...

3 silly little girls

This was breakfast time Sunday morning. Our kids were the first ones up at our site, and our site was the first one up in our campgrounds. We tried to keep the kids quiet (they got up at 6am CST), but when you have 8 little critters, there's only so much you can do! Sorry fellow campers!

Sunday we took a cave tour with all our friends.

Our friends packed up and went home after the first cave tour. Julia really wanted to take another cave tour (Clay too), so we persuaded Kat into a second tour. She did great on the second tour, and Julia threw the tantrums, which was the opposite of what we expected. We had 2 worn out little girls (we were pretty pooped too)! Sleeping on a cold hard ground does not make for a good night's sleep!

Holding up the cave is hard!

We got home last night and had a movie night and made root beer floats. Now we are waiting for Elliott to come home from his weekend of being spoiled by Mamaw and Bapaw!

October 2

Saturday the girls had their first soccer game. They are on the same team this year. Kat did better than I expected. Her motivation for playing was for the snack (she saw Julia get to have the cool snacks after her games last year). But she ran up and down the field and even kicked the ball once or twice.

October 1

Julia is on Fall Break until Tuesday. Yeah! Of course, the one morning I didn't have to wake the kids up early to get ready for school, they were up earlier than normal! We had a play date with our friend Annette, Bay, and June this morning.
